Ant McPartlin and wife Anne-Marie Corbett are expecting their first child together, the presenter’s family has confirmed.

The 48-year-old TV star will be a first-time father when Anne-Marie, 46, gives birth, with their baby expected to arrive in June.

Following weeks of swirling rumours, Ant’s step-father David Woodhall shared a touching statement.

Confirming their pregnancy, David said of Ant: ‘He will make a good dad.

‘He’s good with the girls so he’ll be great.’

David added to The Sun: ‘He’s very happy I think. I’m over the moon.’

Previous reports said the couple, who married three years ago at St Michael’s Church in Heckfield, Hampshire, are ‘beyond delighted’ at their baby news.

‘It’s no secret that Ant has always wanted children, but that it may never happen for him was something he had, sadly, come to terms with.

‘When they found out last year, they were absolutely delighted, but obviously kept the news quiet for as long as possible,’ a source told The Sun.

‘To be having a child with the ‘love of his life’ is the ‘stuff of dreams for Ant,’ they added.

Anne-Marie has two children from a previous relationship. She formally worked as a personal assistant to Ant’s then-wife Lisa Armstrong, to whom he was married from 2006 until 2018.

She and the Saturday Night Takeaway host later became good friends before getting together after his marital split.

Ant, whose divorce from make-up artist Lisa was incredibly public, spoke about his desire to become a father in an interview 12 years ago.

‘Lisa and I would love to have kids. We’re trying. It’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older,’ he told Radio Times.

‘We’ve wanted children for a while but we’re both busy.

‘So Lisa and I are trying for a baby… well, we’ve been trying for a little while so fingers crossed.’

Meanwhile, Ant’s long-time co-presenter Declan Donnelly has two children with his wife Ali Astall: Isla, five, and Jack, one.

In a loving tribute in honour of his friendship with Ant, he gave his son the middle name Anthony.

Ant is yet to address his wife’s pregnancy publicly himself, having recently been busy filming the next series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Before shooting began, Ant and Anne-Marie took a trip to Dubai.
