Deadpool 3 trailer, anyone?

Fans of action/comedy were certainly glad they tuned into this year’s Super Bowl, as they were treated to a first look at the sequel.

Canadian star Ryan Reynolds and Australian actor Hugh Jackman share the screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, the title of which was announced for the first time tonight.

This marks the third film in the franchise and it is set to premiere on July 26.

It’s also Hugh’s first Marvel appearance since 2017’s critically-acclaimed Logan.

As for what’s been teased thus far, the trailer confirmed Ryan’s anti-hero Deadpool will be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This came amid a Loki crossover as Wade Wilson’s birthday party was interrupted by the TVA.

He was introduced to an agent, played by Matthew Macfayden, and given the chance to become a ‘hero among heroes’.

Footage from across the MCU is then aired on screens.

‘Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever,’ Ryan’s character said.

‘I’m the Messiah, I am Marvel Jesus,’ he quipped after making an innuendo joke about Marvel owner Disney.

‘Pegging isn’t new for me friend-o, but it is for Disney.’

Keen to not give too much away, though, the trailer doesn’t show a great deal of Wolverine.

A shadow of him wraps up the teaser before a quick flash of his yellow suit, leaving cinema fans dying for more.

Something fans can look forward to, though, are plenty of other cameos.

As well as Successions Matthew, the movie includes appearances from Emma Corrin (Murder at the End of the World), reportedly Patrick Stewart, and more.

There will also be a few returning Deadpool characters, such as Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa.

Plot details also seem to be being withheld for now, although the film is certain not to be short on action, as Deadpool can be seen stabbing and shooting multiple people.

Very much R-rated, he was also surrounded by splatters of blood in one scene.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 will be released in cinemas on July 26, with production having wrapped on January 24 this year.

It’s safe to say fans have been waiting a very long time for their third installment, as they were first introduced to Deadpool in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine before he landed his very own spin-off series.

The latter premiered to huge success in 2016, before he returned to the silver screen for a sequel in 2018, starring alongside Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, and Zazie Beetz.

Deadpool & Wolverine lands in cinemas on July 26.
