Antiques Roadshow expert Theo Burrell has given a ‘worrying’ update on her terminal cancer diagnosis.

The 36-year-old, who joined the long-running BBC series in 2018, revealed in June that she had been diagnosed with ‘an incurable aggressive grade four brain tumour’ in June 2022 following the birth of her son Jonah.

The TV star was told she had two years to live when Jonah was just one year old and has since been vocal about her cancer to raise awareness, even taking on the role of patron for Brain Tumour Research.

Taking to Instagram, Theo explained that the symptoms are intensifying, making life more difficult.

Alongside a photo of her Jack Russell Pip napping, she wrote: ‘So my recent trips away are definitely catching up with me – do not let my photos fool you, the fatigue, the headaches, the nausea, the dizziness are all still there, and when I’m tired these symptoms/side effects really make themselves known.’

In the last month, Theo has been in Manchester to appear on BBC’s Morning Live, at the Houses of Parliament in London for a Brain Tumour Research event, and in Scotland to meet other people living with brain tumours.

‘I spend many hours worrying about each and every one of these issues because let’s face it, when you’ve got cancer, regrowth is always on your mind,’ she continued.

Theo reminded followers that if they are also ‘living with this fear’ they’re not alone, and do not always assume it’s a sign of ‘something sinister’ as it could be down to tiredness or ‘carrying a lot on your shoulders’.

The post was appreciated by her followers, who thanked Theo for sharing her story.

‘This is so true & your are amazing for sharing your story & for those like me with similar diagnosis it really helps ❤️ & creates a community, thank you so much,’ wrote account Alex Davies.

Dragago Quebrada added: ‘I am so inspired by what you have achieved and of course you must listen to your body. Do what you need to do for your body and please remember that there are so many people who support you and admire you.’

In October, the ceramics, fine furniture and art expert shared some more positive news.

After receiving some scan results – known as a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) – she said: ‘‘Good news! Another stable scan under my belt.

‘Long term, my GBM is still bad news, it will get me, but today we can celebrate another few months of life! Never take the good things in your life for granted. Ever.’
