Graham Norton is famously tight-lipped when it comes to his relationships, but the beloved TV host has now made some rare comments about married life.

The Irish comedy star, 60, tied the knot with filmmaker Jonathan McLeod on July 10, 2022.

Reflecting on almost two years of marriage, Graham said: ‘It’s good! I feel like I’ve turned on my tribe.

‘You know when people in relationships, or who are married, want it for you? You just want me to do it to validate the choice you made! But I am enjoying it.’

Graham went on to speak about his and Jonathan’s age difference, as his Scottish husband is believed to be in his forties.

‘I was older, so I went into it with my eyes wide open,’ he added of walking down the aisle, an interview with Attitude.

‘You know the pitfalls of relationships, the dangers. But I met someone who I was willing to take a bet on.’

Graham – who is the LGBTQ+ magazine’s Person of the Year 2024 – also spoke about his image as he gets older.

‘I’ve never liked what I see in the mirror, and still don’t,’ he confessed.

‘So, I don’t know what to say. Silver fox? I’m a fox that got mange. I don’t mind the way I look. I take care of myself.

‘Obviously, I wish there were fewer lines on my face, more hair on my head. But there are things you can do about that, and I haven’t done those things.’

Graham and Jono married in Bantry House in Ireland in a dreamy summer ceremony, having opted for an Irish wedding to accommodate the Eurovision star’s mother Rhoda Walker.

There were 120 guests in attendance at the lavish bash in his native west Cork, while music legend Lulu performed and drag queen Panti Bliss DJed.

The loved-up pair met six years prior.

At the time, Graham revealed: ‘I got married this year and we had our wedding party near to where my mother lives in Ireland just so she could come.

‘She wouldn’t have been well enough to come to London so West Cork it was. And it made me very happy.’

Speaking previously to The Guardian about their special day, Graham also admitted to making a rather dark joke he made in his speech.

Ever the comic, Graham quipped that ’til death do us part’ was ‘more achievable’ as he entered his sixties.

‘I had a joke in my speech: the vows are much more manageable. “Til death do us part” seems more achievable at our age.

‘If you get married at 23, that’s a big ask. We only have to put up with each other for a couple of decades. And then I’ll be out of here.’
