I did a Shein wedding dress haul & fell in love with a £18 gown – there’s no need to spend thousands to look hot

WHEN you are getting married, buying a wedding dress can be one of the most expensive parts.

However, it doesn’t need to break the bank and there are some affordable gowns out there.

One woman did a wedding dress haul from Shein and showed off four stunning dresses that all cost under £50.

The fashionista posted the try-on session on her @theos_palace account and wrote: “Shein wedding dress try on.

“Shein is really undefeated LMFAO.”

She picked up all the dresses in an XL size and they all looked sensational on her.

First up was white gown with a sweetheart neckline and sheer sleeves.

The woman said she’d only paid $33.95 (£26.78) for the dress, and it fitted her like a glove.

Next up was an off-the-shoulder gown with floral detailing around the neckline, and similar tulle long sleeves.

This one was slightly more at $55.17 (£43.51), but still very affordable compared to the average price people pay for a wedding dress. 

In a report by Bridebook, in 2024 the average amount couples spend on a wedding dress is £1,300.

Her third dress was the cheapest of the bunch.

This off-the-shoulder, simple but elegant dress with long sleeves cost her just $23.76 (£18.74).

The woman shared how she saved the best until last, and it was her favourite of her Shein haul.

This satin-look slinky dress had dramatic sleeves that fell off-the-shoulder. 

What is Shein and is it legit?

Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.
The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.
But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.
There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.

It was also a bargain find at $61.09 (£48.18).

Over 1,400 people liked her wedding dress haul and many were clearly impressed.

One said: “You looked ethereal in the 2nd one! Like a beautiful Disney princess!”

Another added: “You look so beautiful in all of em.”

A third commented: “Wow gorgeous! I had no idea they had wedding dresses.”

The woman isn’t the only person to head to Shein for a bridal gown.

Qui, a woman from Dallas, Texas, explained that her backless wedding dress was just £35 – yes, you heard that correctly.

The beauty and fashion fan took to social media to show off her stunning gown, leaving many open-mouthed.

In the short clip, we saw Qui pose in her dress on the beach, as she said: “This dress was absolutely beautiful. 

“It was the perfect beach wedding dress under $50 [£39.80]. 

“If you’re looking for a beautiful bridal/wedding dress for less than this dress is AMAZING.” 

The show-stopper dress, which came in a pristine white colour, had backless detailing and a flattering plunging neckline.
