Good Morning Britain star Dr Hilary Jones reveals mum Noreen’s death aged 97-Meghna Amin-Entertainment – Metro

Good Morning Britain star Dr Hilary Jones has revealed his mum Noreen has died aged 97.

He announced the news on Tuesday’s Lorraine Kelly, telling the ITV host: ‘We were celebrating her wonderful life.

‘She was 97 years old, she was a kind, generous, very knowledgeable and wonderful woman. She was a remarkable woman really.’

The TV doctor, 70, continued: ‘We just got together and celebrated some of the happy times. It was a fabulous day, just remembering all the caring she gave.

‘She was skilled in antiques, being a nurse, she was a great mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well.

‘We had the opportunity to get together and to celebrate her life.’

‘That’s lovely, a life well lived,’ Lorraine shared, recalling Noreen’s appearance on the ITV programme a few years ago to promote her book.

‘She started her TV career at 93,’ Dr Hilary joked.

The interview saw Lorraine chat to Noreen after publishing her first book, a memoir about her early life.

She elsewhere spoke about her love for ‘gardening’ and keeping active outdoors, as well as all the community groups she was a part of.

Dr Hilary added that he found out so much about his mum that he didn’t know before, that he found ‘fascinating’, including her younger years growing up after the war.

Celebrating Mother’s Day during the segment, Dr Hilary gave his mum a bunch of flowers, saying: ‘The family are so proud of you for what you’ve achieved.’
