Hollywood actor refused to work with A-list co-star after being ‘screamed at’ on set-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

Rebecca Ferguson, the star of several blockbuster films, has recalled ‘crying’ on the set of a film due to a toxic A-list co-star.

The Swedish actress said the star, who she did not name but indicated she worked with in the past 12 years, would ‘scream at her’ while filming, describing them as an ‘insecure and angry human being.’

Rebecca, 40, said she felt like ‘no one’ was on her side as the actor was ‘number one on the call sheet’ and was left ‘breaking’ by the experience.

After being yelled at by the actor, the Dune star said she refused to work with them, but producers insisted they had to be on set.

As a compromise, Rebecca said the director allowed her to act to the back of the actor’s head.

The Mission: Impossible actress later recieved an apology from the director who admitted: ‘The director said, “You’re right. I am not taking care of everyone else. I’m trying to fluff this person because it’s so unstable”.’

The Fallout star recounted the horror incident on podcast Reign with Josh Smith, explaining: ‘I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out. And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at.

‘But because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set.’

Rebecca claimed the co-star gave her a dressing-down in front of the entire crew, yelling: “You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What the f**k is this?”

The Greatest Showman actor alleged that she had ‘no one’ on her side as she stood there ‘just breaking’.

When she returned to set the following day, she spoke up and refused to work with the co-star.

Rebecca recounted: ‘[I said], “You get off my set.” It’s the first time I’ve ever spoken [up]; I remember being so scared. I looked at this person and I said, “You can F off. I’m gonna work towards a tennis ball. I never want to see you again”.’

When the producers insisted the actor had to be present on set, she suggested acting to the back of their head instead, saying she felt ‘so scared.’

She later went to the director to ask why the actor was allowed to behave that way: ‘The director said, “You’re right. I am not taking care of everyone else. I’m trying to fluff this person. Because it’s so unstable.”

‘It was great from that moment, but it took so long for me to get to that [being able to use her voice].’
