Fern Britton has shared her thoughts on Donald Trump in no uncertain terms as she declared she hopes his wife, Melania Trump, is seeing another man on the side.
The This Morning legend and Celebrity Big Brother 2024 contestant, 66, is appearing in the ITV reality show alongside the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Nikita Kuzmin and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
And on Sunday’s episode the housemates listened to Sharon spill the tea once again about public figures she’s met during her glittering showbiz career.
Sharon spoke about appearing on Celebrity Apprentice with the former US president, and conversation turned to his wife, Melania Trump.
Clarifying that she meant the wife he is still currently married to – Trump has had three wives – Sharon said Melania was ‘lovely’.
Fern then jumped in and said she hoped Melania was ‘being paid a great deal of money to smile and be nice. I love it when he tries to hold her hand and she moves away.’

‘But she’ll be making a lot of money. And hopefully she has some nice guy or whoever on the side.’
For her part, Sharon said Trump had been ‘very nice with me, extremely nice, very charming’ — but added ‘he’s the sort of man that won’t talk to you if he doesn’t think you’re a pretty woman.’
‘He treats women like,’ she went on before making a sweeping motion. ‘If he thinks you’re a pretty woman, he will talk to you, but if you’re not,’ and she swept the air again.
And Louis Walsh went all in, declaring he is ‘allergic to Donald Trump,’ calling him ‘awful’ and an ‘egomaniac’.
But Sharon had the last word as she finished the conversation by saying: ‘I just thank God he’s 78. Because we won’t have to suffer him long.’
The chaotic segment proved hugely popular with fans watching from home, and X lit up with users sharing their thoughts – particularly about Fern’s hopes for Melania.
User Jameela declared ‘Fern you are the people’s princess I love you’, and Lewis John Yule said they were ‘obsessed with [Fern] hoping Melania has a bit on the side.’

Ryan Love wrote ‘Fern please!,’ and @AliceBrine said it was ‘the hun quote of the year’.
Sharon took part in The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC in 2010, coming in third place – after famously declaring her fellow contestants were as entertaining as ‘watching ice melt’.
Trump, who was US president from 2016 to 2020 and whose failure to be re-elected saw a shocking insurrection at the US Capitol in January 2021, is now set to contest the election once again, with a rematch against Democrat President Joe Biden.

Melania and Trump’s marriage has been the subject of public scrutiny multiple times, with several videos over the years appearing to show the former First Lady moving away from him as he attempts to hold her hand.
This year there were questions around Melania’s whereabouts as she had not been seen alongside her husband, however she joined him at a gala at Mar-a-Lago.
She was missing from a family Christmas photo and it was soon revealed that it was because she was at the side of her mother, Amalija Knavs, who was hospitalized. Melania delivered a heartfelt eulogy to her mom’s funeral on January 18.
Melania has not been appearing alongside her husband on the campaign trail, but there are reports that she will soon be joining him as the 2024 election in November nears.
