Katy Perry and Chloe Bailey face off in peekaboo butt corsets – new trend takes off as stars tire of freeing the nipple

FREEING the nipple has been a go-to weapon in Hollywood’s style shock value arsenal for years.

But some stars may be tired of putting their headlights in the limelight — and a new red carpet trend is playing peekaboo with another body part.

On March 6, Katy Perry hit the Billboard Music Awards in a daring ensemble by Ellie Misner.

The 39-year-old wore a red corset and matching skirt, which also had lace-up corset detailing in back.

But Katy wasn’t quite laced up all the way, revealing her backside — and G-string thong — peeking through the back.

Then at the GLAAD Media Awards on March 14, Chloe Bailey, 25, turned up in a strikingly similar peekaboo butt corset style.

Hers was a patent leather-like black dress with feathers at the cuffs and shoulders.

But when she turned around, she, too, had loosely-laced corset strings styled open to show off her derriere.

“Business in the front. Party in the back!” quipped one fan on Instagram.

Fans of both stars, though, have been divided on whether the booty-baring look is a hit or a miss.

“I love you Katy but this outfit did not need the crack view,” one chastised Katy on her Instagram post.

“The corset is stunning. But overall, One of the worst outfits ever seen. Never again please,” wrote another.

“I don’t understand celebrity fashion… Having my crack out is not a fashion choice I will ever participate in, especially the entirety of my crack,” lectured a third.

“I like Katy, but this is vulgar and unnecessary,” yet another complained.

Comments on Chloe’s post were a bit more mixed, with some calling her outfit “classless” and “nasty” but others insisting she pulled it off.

Those who loved it called it “gorgeous” and “most beautiful dress of the century.”

“I can’t get into the peekaboo booty crack trend but this GLAM is beautiful,” wrote one unimpressed fan.

“Why??? She’s so beautiful. She don’t need to do all that,” said another.

Katy nor Chloe are the first two stars to take the “peekaboo butt corset” look for a spin.

But with nipple-baring looks at nearly every event these days, other stars may look to them for inspiration for a new way to dress nude.
