90s music megastar, 58, looks incredible in very edgy debut Vogue shoot-Kitty Chrisp-Entertainment – Metro

Björk just hit the front cover of Vogue Scandinavia with her trademark ethereal edgy presence.

Iceland’s most international musician, 58, has made her Vogue cover shoot debut in the March to April issue and she looks incredible.

The issue also spotlights other unique Scandinavian acts including Finnish rock band Lordi, who, clad in Prada and infernal high fashion, made their foray into the modelling world.

The cover sees the Human Behaviour hitmaker poised for take-off wearing John Galliano’s nude illusion hand-painted dress made for fashion label Maison Margiela.

Having got the world of fashion chatting when it appeared on the spring/summer ‘24 Haute Couture runway in January this year, Björk told the publication she was ‘honoured’ to have been able to wear the dress.

The label is sentimental for the singer, as Björk wore Margiela pieces from her own wardrobe for the cover of her first solo album Debut in 1993.

‘When I put on the Margiela dress, and I slipped on the prosthetic hips, it seemed like a full circle moment,’ she said in the interview.

Another stunning image sees the one-of-a-kind singer staring into the camera with her green eyes and rogue lips through a cobalt aquatic mask, which ribboned around her features.

This ocean motif aligns with Björk’s work as an ever-impassioned environmentalism which she has incorporated into her work, especially with her album, Biophilia, which means the love of living things and nature.

Last year she talked to The Guardian about her climate change activism: ‘Always in Iceland, where I know it can actually make a change – which later maybe could be an exemplary case [internationally].

‘We have the largest untouched natural area in Europe and a lot of us feel like guardians of this.’

In the wider interview, the legendary artist reflected on her 40 years in the public eye and her most memorable fashion moments.

Björk’s music career began at the age of 11 and she went on to gain international recognition as the lead singer of rock band the Sugarcubes, who she joined aged 21.

The icon shares her daughter Ísadóra with ex Matthew Barney, who she parted ways with in 2013 following their 13-year relationship.

She welcomed her first child Sindri in 1986 with her former bandmate and ex-husband Thor Eldon when she was 20. He is now a musician too.
