Whoopi Goldberg disrupts the View to confront rule-breaking audience member-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro

Whoopi Goldberg halted the action on the View to confront a member of the audience, while live on air.

On Tuesday’s episode of the ABC series, the panel – also made up of Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar and Alyssa Farah Griffin – kicked things off with a debate about Donald Trump.

However, the Ghost actress found herself distracted by something happening off camera, and quickly left her seat to deal with the issue.

‘Hold on a sec, hold on,’ the 68-year-old said while walking across the stage to address someone sat in the crowd.

‘Sir, I have to stop you with the camera, because I can see you,’ she warned.

‘So do me a favor, don’t pull it out again. I’d appreciate that. Thank you.’

As the audience applauded Whoopi’s move, a baffled Joy begged for answers, questioning: ‘What was he doing?’

‘Recording,’ Sara replied as the Oscar-winner rejoined the panel and signaled for the discussion to continue.

According to People Magazine, audience members are told before taping that they are forbidden from recording or capturing anything during the show.

Whoopi is no stranger to pausing the program to deal with people behind the camera, as she previously urged climate change protestors to ‘let us do our job’ in 2022, as senator Ted Cruz joined proceedings.

Last year, she found herself being heckled as she approached her seat, with one member of the crowd apparently branding her an ‘old broad’.

Seconds after getting comfortable on stage, she turned and directed her attention to a group of women nearby, asking one of them: ‘Did you just call me an old broad?’

Her co-stars couldn’t help but find the exchange hilarious, as the rest of the audience chuckled along.

Clearly unfazed, Whoopi insisted: ’She said, “You old broad,” and I was like, hey, it’s Wednesday, and I am an old broad, and happy about it.’

Sunny saw the positivity in the scenes and suggested that being named an ‘old broad’ is better than ‘the alternative’.

‘The alternative is not attractive to any of us,’ Whoopi laughed. ‘We all want to be old broads and old dudes.’

Never, ever mess with Whoopi.
