Good Morning Britain viewers have been left begging bosses to make Rob Rinder a permanent presenter on the programme.

ITV has seen some major shake-ups when it comes to their hosting line-up in recent months, with Ben Shephard swapping Good Morning Britain for This Morning as Phillip Schofield’s replacement.

Meanwhile, Adil Ray has returned to the early-morning news programme, while Kate Garraway recently stepped back after the death of her husband Derek Draper.

This week, while Susanna Reid and Ed Balls take a well-deserved break, Charlotte Hawkins has been joined by the likes of Richard Madeley and Rob.

Strictly Come Dancing star Rob, who first presented Good Morning Britain in 2022,has certainly impressed fans, with them begging for him to return more often.

Amanda wrote: ‘Absolutely love Rob Rinder on GMB he is such a nice guy and an asset to the programme. GMB let’s have him on the show regularly please.’

‘Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins are an underrated double act, give them the Friday show permanently,’ Joey said, while Marie echoed: ‘I never watch GMB, but would if @RobbieRinder was a permanent fixture. Superb.’

Ray added: ‘Very interesting how different presenters on #GMB appear to influence the content and quality of the show. Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins are elevating the brand today with really solid takes and interviews. A refreshing change from the ‘facile Fridays’ of yore.’

Rob, 45, has impressed Good Morning Britain viewers over his grilling of politicians and advocacy in recent months.

He first hit to fame in 2014 as a practicing barrister on ITV’s Judge Rinder, before hosting the likes of BBC show Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby and Channel 4’s Princes in the Tower.

He’s also appeared on Who Do You Think You Are? and Celebrity Gogglebox with Susanna.

In 2022, Rob told whether he’d consider joining Good Morning Britain as a full-time presenter, admitting that while he ‘doesn’t know about permanently’, there is a ‘possibility’ for future appearances, so viewers should ‘watch this space’.

‘I really enjoyed my time doing it. It’s a really challenging job. It’s three hours of live television and making sure you’re on top of the brief,’ he said.

‘The people that make that programme, they’re up all night. The people in front of the camera represent the tiniest element of this extraordinary community of professionals that make that show happen, people that have worked unbelievably hard.’

Rob explained that in his view when people are on TV, they get ‘disproportionate praise’ and ‘sometimes criticism’ as the faces of a show.

‘It’s like standing by the goal line – I can’t believe I’m actually using a football analogy,’ he said.

‘Everyone else does the work, you just push the ball over. It’s a great team and there’s such good energy being part of that programme. It feels like it matters and it feels like it has the capacity to really shape public discussions. I think that’s an enormously exciting thing to do.’

He added: ‘I doubt very much that I’d be a permanent fixture. I don’t know, but who knows what will happen in the future.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
