My pal’s SATC-inspired wedding guest dress is so inappropriate – you should have seen her engagement party outfit though

A WOMAN has slammed her friend for planning to wear a totally “inappropriate” dress to her brother’s wedding.

She took to Reddit to explain that her pal was having a dress made for the occasion, and had chosen one of Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic Sex and the City ensembles as her inspiration.

The dress in question is a nude strapless number, with barely-there mesh detailing and sparkles, and a daringly high cut.

“Is this dress appropriate?” she wrote, adding that the bride would be wearing a “Grace Kelly inspired” dress for the formal nuptials in Switzerland.

She also said that they’d tried to encourage her to choose another style – as she is having the dress made and budget is no issue – but she said she wanted her own “Carrie Bradshaw moment” at the wedding.

However, people were quick to side with the poster, with one writing: “Tell her that she can have a Carrie Bradshaw moment at her own wedding and to respect the bride and her family.”

“Carrie Bradshaw should never be anyone’s example for what to wear to not be the main character!” another insisted.

“That’s what my mum said too,” the poster replied.

“Thank you!”

The woman continued to explain that they had tried to “approach the topic” with their friend and “redirect her to something else” but it “did not work”.

“We have now informed the groom and we will see from there,” she added.

“The bride deserves the best day ever, it’s not fair on her at all.”

She also said that the woman had already tried to upstage the bride by wearing an attention-grabbing gold dress to the engagement party.

“She did wear this dress to the engagement party though, where the dress code was cocktail and during the daytime at a garden,” she wrote, sharing a snap of the one-shouldered metallic number.

” Bride was slightly upset, but she is such a nice person that she said she was glad she looked pretty.

“May not be worth trying to get some sense out of this woman!”

“Is there NEVER enough attention on her? ??” one person commented on that picture.
