People watching ITV gameshow The 1% Club are convinced that the final question in last night’s episode was one of the easiest ever.

Shall we see what you think?

During Saturday night’s episode, host Lee Mack revealed that there was a jackpot of £94,000 to play for at the end, with six players left in the game.

All of the participants voted to play on, meaning that if they got the final question right – the 1% question – then they would split the prize money equally.

The question then went as follows: ‘Starting on 25, the middle square, SEEN takes you to square 27. From there, NEW takes you to 20. From there, which square does SEWN take you to?’

Accompanying the question was a grid of numbers starting from the number 1 to the number 49.

After the players had the chance to work out and submit their answers, all was revealed – with only one person getting it wrong.

Have you worked out how to solve the puzzle?

For all of you savvy quiz-lovers, you might have figured out that the letters S, E, N and W of course referred to the directions South, East, North and West on a compass.

So, by starting on square 25, following the instructions of SEEN would take you just two squares to the right, after going down, right, right and up.

With that in mind, going from the number 20 with the word SEWN would take you… back to square 20 again, as it would involve you going back on yourself by going down, right, left and then up again.

Here’s the answer! Did you get it right? (Picture: ITV)

While you might have given yourself a pat on the back for working that out, several people watching The 1% Club found the question far too easy, especially given it was the last one of the entire episode and so is expected to be very difficult.

‘I got the 1% question right!! 😃😁 I think that was one of the easiest 1% ques they’ve had,’ Annie wrote on X.

‘That was a very easy 1% question.’ wrote an account with the handle @hare__today, while Chelle agreed: ‘I got the 1%! Thought it was an easy one tonight. Never seen so many people get into the final & win.’

Matt quipped: ‘Wot, that was the jackpot question? That was easy, give me £18,000 😄.’

Easy or not, the people who guessed the question right on the ITV show each won £18,800 of the jackpot, with one person sadly missing out. So congratulations to the winners!

The 1% Club is available to watch on ITVX.
