An Australian radio presenter just announced his colleagues’ pregnancy live on air in a blunder he won’t be forgetting for a while.

Sports presenter Max Burford was discussing ruining surprises with co-host Ali Clarke when he accidentally revealed colleague Taylee’s pregnancy on Adelaide’s Mix 102.3 in Australia.

Poor Max thought everyone knew about the happy news already – but he was promptly informed otherwise by a ‘good friend’ and producer on the show. Yikes.

Ironically, Max was telling the story of how he awkwardly guessed TV reporter Taylee was pregnant at Channel 5 work drinks, when it was pointed out by Ali that he was in fact ruining the surprise for the second time in retelling this story – this time live on radio.

‘It was a Friday and on a Friday we do drinks, one of our other reporters, beautiful Taylee, is saying “Oh should I have the Pepsi Max, should I have the Coke Zero?”‘ recalled Max, who said he then suggested she drink a seltzer.

Taylee then rejected this alcoholic option, prompting Max to reveal he joked she was pregnant, which his colleague quietly confirmed.

‘Now you’re saying it on the radio!’ pointed out Ali, before Max defended himself, saying it was already ‘public knowledge’.

‘All I’ve got is something coming through from our producers saying, “It’s not on her socials,”‘ responded Ali, before Max said: ‘It’s public knowledge, she sent out an email to our entire company.’

Producer and friend of Taylee then jumped in and said: ‘Sorry I’m button pushing here, I’m one of her good friends and she has not told me.’

Uhoh! To this, Max then awkwardly joked: ‘Just helping the cause, just helping out our phone calls… Hey, have you guys ever ruined any surprises?’ he asked listeners, seemingly at a loss of what else to say.

Luckily, Taylee has now revealed the happy news on her Instagram page, as she shared a picture of a sweet babygrow alongside her husband and wrote: ‘Buns and choccies have been forced to share the belly this year (which has been no issue). Mini Paley due August.’

Perhaps the most memorable on air blunder of the past few years came in December, when BBC presenter Maryam Moshiri appeared to give the middle finger live on air.

Following the hilarious gaffe, Maryam later apologised, explaining she had jokingly counted down to being on air, culminating in pulling her middle finger for number one as she messed around with the crew.

Except, she appeared to get the timings a little wrong…
