I thrifted a $25 dress without recognizing the label – I looked it up when I got home and was shocked by its real price
A THRIFTER has found the ultimate find, with a value that exceeds what she paid for it.
She said the second-hand shop style cost her just $25 — a fraction of the designer brand’s worth.

Ashley George (@ashleygeorge06) filmed herself strolling the aisles of the thrift store in a viral video on TikTok.
She spotted everything from wedding dresses to looks better suited for nightlife.
However, one piece in particular caught her eye, despite not recognizing the brand at first.
Her find proved that “black tie” on a budget is completely possible.
DRESS TO IMPRESS
George said she went to the Franklin Mills mall, now called Philadelphia Mills.
She checked out a popular second-hand shop in the area — Reclectic.
She added that through all the clothes and accessories, one black evening gown caught her eye.
George told The U.S. Sun that she almost didn’t buy the dress because it was a size smaller than she usually wears.
SURPRISE SURPRISE
Although she felt the quality material of the frock, she didn’t become aware of the original price until later.
“After I posted the dress, someone asked where I got this dress and that’s when I found out how much it was,” she told The U.S. Sun.
George said on TikTok that the dress cost her just $25.
Hover, looking it up online, the value of the piece is much closer to $500.
The dress is called the Strapless Sweetheart Jersey Gown with Waist Detail by Mac Duggal, $498.
JUST AN ADJUSTMENT
George wore the dress on TikTok with her beau, clearly looking ready for the glamorous event.
She added that although the piece suited her well, she did have to make a couple tweaks to ensure a perfect fit.
In the TikTok she specified that part of the boning in the bodice of the dress was sticking out a little.
“I had to cut it,” she said.
SEAL OF APPROVAL
Many fashion fans chimed in to share their support for the thrift fashion find.
“It was made for you,” one wrote.
“I’ve been looking [for] that dress,” another added. “Want to thrift it to me after?”
“Regardless of the price you looked [fire emoji],” a third commented. “But we love a frugal queen.”
