Melrose Place is the latest in a long line of TV shows to get the reboot treatment – for a second time.

The beloved series, starring Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Marcia Cross and Daphne Zuniga, first aired in 1992.

It followed the goings-on of an apartment building in West Hollywood, and ran for seven seasons, until 1999.

The program was initially revived by the CW in 2009, with Katie Cassidy and Ashlee Simpson in the cast, but received low ratings and was canceled after one season.

According to reports, we’ll be returning to the complex once again for another glimpse at the drama, with the original stars said to be back in the fold.

CBS is said to be developing a reboot with Daphne, Heather and Laura back on board – despite the latter’s character dying minutes into the failed 2009 attempt.

The trio will reprise their roles as Jo Reynolds, Amanda Woodward and Sydney Andrews respectively – Daphne will also be serving as a producer.

It is not clear whether any other former residents will return – Doug Savant, Lisa Rinna, Kelly Rutherford, Vanessa Williams, Alyssa Milano and Kristin Davis are just some of the other stars who walked those iconic halls at 4616 Melrose Place over the years.

Deadline reports that the new revival is picking up from the original series, and not the follow-up.

Little else is known about the upcoming episodes – and when they could air – but the plot is set to focus on the OG residents returning to their roots when an old friend dies.

However, their reunion ‘uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets’.

Shortly after arriving back at Melrose Place, the gang are thrown back into the chaos that is ‘reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective’.

Loyal fans were delighted by the announcement, and flooded social media with excitement for the news.

Taking to Twitter, Brad Everett Young posted: So dang excited!!! Welcome Back #MelrosePlace!’

As RoyallyJJ4life added: ‘Yes, please! I binge watch Melrose Place at least once a year. #MelrosePlace.’
