I’m plus-size & hate the revealing high slit bridesmaid dress my slim pal chose – don’t get me started on the side boob

BEING asked to be bridesmaid at a friend or loved one’s wedding should be seen as an honour.

But one body-conscious plus-size woman has told how it’s turned into nothing but a nightmare after her slim friend, the bride-to-be, revealed the rather “revealing” dress she’d chosen for the bridal part to wear.

The woman explained how she’s worried about her ‘side boob’ and ‘back rolls’Reddit

In a post shared to Reddit, titled “stuck wearing revealing bridesmaids dress as the only plus size girl,” the concerned woman posted a snap of the satin navy gown in question.

“The dress is a strapless, open shoulder, thigh slit, halter twist-tie neck,” she said, sharing her concerns.

“Picture is the exact dress I am the largest bridesmaid – the bride is like an XS/XXS, and every other bridesmaid is a small or medium.”

She questioned: “How the heck do they expect me to support my bigger chest in this lol?! And don’t even get me started on the side boob and back rolls I got in this dress.”

The plus-size bridesmaid went on to say that another major concern of hers is the breast situation.

“Shoulder-less/open back means I can’t wear any form of supportive bra AND Trust me, I wish there was,” she continued.

“But I’ve looked everywhere and there’s virtually no body/chest shapewear I can put underneath this dress.”

The woman ended the post by asking social forum users to wish her luck, noting that that wedding is set to take place in one month’s time.

It wasn’t long before the thread was flooded with comments, with many sympathising having found themselves in a similar position.

“I don’t have bra advice like some of the other posters here, but I just wanted to say, I have been in this situation and I know it’s tough,” reassured one.

“Just remember that everyone will be focused on the bride, and I hope you find a way to feel pretty and confident.”

A second penned: “My bridesmaid is a 38H. She picked her own dress with this neckline and lower back.

“She wore a halter backless longline bra with Spanx slip. She looked like a bombshell and danced all night.”

A third commented: “Ugh I went through the same thing. Tight almost mermaid style blue dresses.

“I looked like a whale, the other bridesmaids were tiny normal sized but at the time I was like 235. I was mortified but dealt with it for the bride.”

Elsewhere, others shared their top tips that could help the woman to feel more confident on the big day.

“For my sisters wedding I had a strapless bra sewn into my bridesmaid dress. Is that doable?” asked one.

Another advised: “If your dress needs to be hemmed, see if the excess fabric can be used to close the split.

“Like, a triangle of spare fabric stitched into the top of the split just to give you an extra couple of inches of coverage.”
