People said my lace wedding dress was ‘disgusting’ & looked like I was going to Tesco – but I wanted it to be low-key
A BRIDE has hit back at the trolls after they described her see-through wedding frock as ”disgusting” and ”very simple”.
Tiva Kristina, from Copenhagen, Denmark, took to TikTok after her lace gown caused an ”outrage” on the platform, with people saying it was ”giving nothing”.

The now-viral video, which has racked up close to a whopping 8million views in just one day, sees the brunette beauty get ready for her nuptials.
Tiva, who posts under the username @tivakristina, had opted for a gorgeous see-through maxi dress in white, soft glam make-up, as well as a choker-style necklace with a golden heart and kept her long hair in a sleek ponytail.
Although she’d purchased the stunning see-through dress from a brand called Rimarka, the Dane said she’d seen similar versions on Vinted too.
But despite looking beautiful, Tiva – who walked to the local city hall to tie the knot – received backlash for her ”simple” outfit.
”My Albanian origins will never let me wear a simple dress,” one TikTok user said.
”The necklace [shock emoji],” another chimed in, not too sure on the jewellery choice.
”I don’t think her hairstyle is that suitable, it needed white flowers or something,” a fellow critic reckoned.
Luckily, the reaction was mainly positive, as hundreds of kind-hearted social media users flocked to hit back at the trolls.
One fan of the look said: ”I’m not sure why everyone is making negative comments about the dress/accessories – they are gorgeous and the style is perfect for a city hall wedding which is more relaxed.
”You look beautiful!”

”A lot of people wrote that my dress is giving nothing, that it is very simple and also that a lot of people go to Tesco and dinners in dresses like that.”
According to Tiva, this was totally ”intentional”, as she was aware how ”simple” the gown was.

She explained that one of the main reasons she’d opted for a less flashy and OTT frock was wearing it more than once, whether it’s going out for a dinner date or do her grocery shopping.
”I don’t want to bury it in my closet for it to collect dust, I don’t want to sell it – I want to continue wearing it, so that it could remind me of the beautiful day that we had.”
Tiva also said that as it was a civil wedding, no one really wears ”crazy, luxurious” frocks on such occasions – however, if this is something you wanted, she was all for it.
The couple, she added, will also have a wedding celebration where she promised to wear ”a normal wedding dress”.
The key message, which Tiva shared in the follow-up video, was that at the end of the day, the quality of your marriage has nothing to do with what you were wearing on the big day – whether it’s jeans and a T-shirt or an all-out princess-style gown.
