‘I didn’t recognise my body after kids’ Kate Ferdinand, 32, says as she launches new bargain activewear range with Tesco

KATE Ferdinand has candidly shared how she “didn’t recognise herself at all” after having two children – and now “can’t live without leggings and a hoodie”.

The 32-year-old shares son Cree, two, and daughter Shea, nine months, with retired footballer Rio Ferdinand.

And to mark her settling into life as a mum-of-two and step-mum-of-three, she has released a new activewear range with Tesco.

“When you have a baby, it’s so exciting and you’ve got this new life – but you also just don’t recognise yourself at all,” Kate told Women’s Health.

“How you look, how you feel… I found it really confusing.

“It took me a while to get to know myself again. I literally didn’t get out of my pyjamas for weeks.

“But the important thing is to not put pressure on yourself.

“It takes time to feel comfortable in your new body.”

The TOWIE alum became an F&F (Tesco’s inhouse clothing brand) ambassador when she released a sell-out collection in December last year.

For the new spring collection, she drew inspiration from her “plain girl” style to create leggings, hoodies, soft loungewear and everyday basics.

And she assured the collection prioritises comfort as she “can’t stand wearing anything that’s itchy”.

“This is the perfect collection for someone who is on-the-go, whether it’s a mum or just someone with a busy lifestyle,” Kate said.

“We’ve got everything from your gym clothes to your comfy trackies in there.

“Being with the kids so much, those are the things I wear the most pretty much every day.

“I literally couldn’t live without leggings and a hoodie.

“And the quality is honestly just unbelievable – I think people will be quite shocked at how good it is.”

This is the first half of the F&F active spring collection and is available to shop in Tesco stores now.

Prices start as cheap as £10 and the sizes range from UK 6 to 22.

A black crop top from the range will set you back £14, while a pair of black gym leggings cost £16.

More pieces to see you through spring and summer are set to be released at the end of April.

“A few years ago, people would think it was weird to be in gym clothes all day, but now they’re just a go-to even if you’re just going for a walk or popping into the shops,” Kate said.

“You don’t necessarily have to be going to the gym, and they’re not just practical but look really good too.”
