Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are known for starting Friday’s edition of This Morning with a musical number, and their latest unveiled a secret talent.
While Alison, 49, usually energetically lip-syncs to a pop song and makes the entire ITV set her dance floor, in today’s episode, she sat down to play a beautiful tune on the piano.
As she tinkered with the keys, Dermot introduced the day’s show and quickly the song got into his soul and took him away.
‘Welcome to the show todayyyyyy,’ he belted out as Alison began to giggle. Despite being momentarily distracted by Dermot, Alison continued to play her song for the nation.
To prove it was really Alison, viewers were treated to a close-up of Alison’s hands with her long red acrylic nails moving along the instrument.
Dermot soon revealed that her performance was in honour of French pianist Richard Clayderman, who appeared later in the show.

He joked that the song Alison had chosen was an original composition called ‘Le ode de Birmingham,’ which once again tickled his co-host.
After over a minute of playing the piano, Alison brought the song to a close and was applauded by the studio.
She blew a kiss as Dermot yelled for ‘More’. Unfortunately, Alison then stood up to carry on with her day job – presenting This Morning – but not before bowing.
‘That was spectacular,’ Dermot told her. Alison then confessed that it was the only song she could play. One more than us!

We all need a Dermot in our lives as while holding Alison’s hand, he told her to not be self-deprecating, and assured her that she was going to be able to learn more easily.
‘That was an absolute tonic for me. Can you learn a different composition every week and play it for us?’ Dermot requested.
Alison didn’t say no, but she also didn’t say yes and instead replied that she needed to get a teacher, and joked she’d have a word with the world-renowned Clayderman.

‘Wow Alison such beautiful playing. Love it. You and Dermot are brilliant,’ wrote account MandyGo91455203.
