Josie Gibson has announced her latest ‘surreal’ new job just two months after missing out on the This Morning role.

The 39-year-old star, who rose to fame when she won Big Brother back in 2010, appeared to be in the running to replace Holly Willoughby on the ITV daytime show, but it was Cat Deeley who landed the job alongside Ben Shephard back in February.

However, Josie is keeping busy and she has been spotted hopping on the tills to serve shoppers at one of Iceland’s stores, before having a go at stacking one of the freezers.

She was even given her own Iceland jacket and name badge as she steps in as the new face of the supermarket, with new adverts launching from today (April 19).

Josie’s ads – which feature the new, updated tagline ‘That’s why why go to Iceland’ – will run over 12 months in primetime, airing between the likes of Gogglebox, Britain’s Got Talent, In For A Penny and Made In Chelsea.

‘I remember shopping in Iceland when I was a little girl, so it feels incredibly surreal to be working with them as the face of the brand,’ she said in a statement.

Hailing the brand’s ‘commitment’ to good value and customer care, the mum-of-one added: ‘Shooting the ad and meeting the team was so much fun and I can’t wait for people to see it.’

Over on This Morning, Cat and Ben’s new partnership comes after Phillip Schofield quit the show early last year, followed a few months later by Holly Willoughby.

There was a lot of speculation over who could take their spots as the new faces of the daytime show, with names including Alison HammondDermot O’Leary and Rylan Clark being mentioned.

Last month, a source claimed to OK! magazine: ‘The person who is really gutted that she wasn’t given the role is Josie Gibson – her nose is out of joint.

‘She was touted as the new Holly but wasn’t the case. She’s hurt over the decision.’

However, now Josie has followed in the footsteps of fellow I’m A Celebrity stars like Kerry Katona and Peter Andre, who have also fronted campaigns for Iceland.

Richard Walker, executive chairman of Iceland Foods, commented: ‘With her famous warmth and positivity, Josie is the perfect person to encapsulate the friendly welcome all our customers receive at Iceland and we’re delighted to have her onboard.

‌’Iceland’s always been number one with mums and our new campaign celebrates our growing customer base, from across all aspects of the great British public.

‌’We’re excited to be working with Josie and can’t wait to see the great things we’ll do together to show that’s why we go to Iceland.’
