When they released 21 Seconds in 2001, So Solid Crew probably never imagined they’d be performing at a rave for babies two decades on.
Yet, here they are!
The garage chart-toppers played to a very different crowd this week after being asked to be special guests at the Ministry of Sound for the daytime rave.
Made up of the likes of Romeo, Harvey, Lisa Mafia and Ashley Walters, the noughties hitmakers brought the party to the Raver Tots event at the iconic dance music nightclub.
It hosts family-friendly parties for mums and dads to enjoy tunes from their youth with their broods and was described as ‘suitable for all ages.’
While the vibe of So Solid gigs was much more lively back in the day, this time buggies had to be banned from the dancefloor at the club in Elephant and Castle, as they’d be a tripping hazard.

The website said of the show: ‘Featuring huge effects show throughout the event with dancers, performers, cold pyro, bubbles.
‘Festival-sized confetti blasts, multi-coloured lasers and lighting, parachute games, giant balloons, licensed bar and face painting.’
The event took place at the nightclub last Saturday (April 13), as reported by What’sTheJam, with parents (pardon the pun) raving about it afterwards, showing the group has still got it.
One mum named Louise Mahon said: ‘What an incredible event. Had the best time.’
Channy Lewis added: ‘Fancy this with the grandkids.’
The event was said to be the biggest family-friendly rave in the UK, allowing kids and their parents to hit the floor together.

Of course, the stars performed their biggest tune 21 Seconds, which was originally released in 2001 and hit number one in the charts.
So Solid Crew first emerged from the south London pirate radio scene and achieved mainstream success in the 2000s, including with their album They Don’t Know.
The hip-hop collective has since been credited for being pioneers in the UK music scene.
They acquired a fanbase for flipping garage music on its head, turning it from a dancey genre to one that was darker and more MC-oriented.
So Solid Crew is a large group, initially boasting 19 members before expanding to 30.
Since their heyday, the members have taken different paths.

MC Harvey pursued his own solo career after So Solid Crew, with his debut single titled Get Up and Move, which reached number 24 in the charts.
He went on to star in a string of reality shows, finishing sixth in Celebrity Big Brother in 2012.
Marvin Dawkins, aka MC Romeo, also had several stints on reality television, placing sixth in Celebrity Big Brother also, in the series before Harvey’s.
Like Harvey, Romeo pursued a solo career of his own, earning himself a top 10 single It’s All Gravy with Christina Millian in 2002.
Meanwhile, Lisa Maffia arguably had the most successful recording career out of the band, as her first solo single, All Over, went to number two, and she proceeded to establish her own record label.
She later collaborated with Peter Andre and, in 2020, documented a cancer scare.
As for Ashley Walters, aka Asher D, he’s gone on to become an award-winning actor, probably best known for playing kingpin Dushane Hill in drug dealer drama Top Boy.
