The trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine is here and it is wild, but one detail in particular has Marvel fans shocked and delighted.
It’s a collaboration fans of the superheroes have been begging for since the release of X-Men Origins Wolverine in 2009, where Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool was first seen onscreen.
Following the release of Deadpool and Deadpool 2 in 2016 and 2018 respectively, Deadpool and Wolverine began development with the first trailer arriving today.
Despite vowing not to return to his iconic role following the release of Logan, Hugh Jackman appears once again as Wolverine with Reynolds as his foul-mouthed frenemy.
Among the expletives, explosions, drugs, and hand claws to the genitals, fans were delighted by one easter egg from the world of X-Men.
In a slow-motion sequence, Wolverine can be seen in a familiar sleeveless yellow costume accurate to the Marvel comics and X-Men animated series.

Since Jackman took on the role in 2000 for 20th Century Fox’s live-action X-Men film, Wolverine has never been pictured in his iconic yellow suit, leaving fans ‘losing their mind’ over the latest trailer.
‘This feels unreal’, @nightwaynes wrote on X next to a comparison of the live-action and animated version of the characters.
Robert Anthony added: ‘I can’t believe it took nearly 25 years for @RealHughJackman to finally don the comic-book-accurate Wolverine costume, but we finally made it X-Men fans…LFG!!! ❌🔥’
@guyintheskyy said it’s ‘This is by far the best looking comic correct iteration of Wolverine to date,’ while others questioned if we would be seeing his famous mask at some point.
On Reddit, user the-akira-slide wrote: ‘As a little kid in the 90s who grew up on the animated series before I ever touched any comic book: Oh my f****n’ godddddd.’
Fermentedradical agreed, adding: ‘The 90’s kid in me that loves Wolvie more than any other X-Man is screaming. Yaaaaaaaaas.’
Grayman222 even said: ‘I’m hearing the animated series theme in my head right now.’
Fans went wild at the announcement Wolverine would appear in the next instalment of the violent and action-packed Deadpool franchise, with Ryan sharing the news in a video last year.

The trailer has also given fans a first look at villain Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) – as she walks from the giant skull of Ant-Man, no less.
In the Marvel Universe she is the evil twin of Professor Charles Xavier, played in the films by Sir Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, and Harry Lloyd
It also confirms the return of X-Men characters Azazel (Jason Flemyng) and Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu), who have both already appeared in previous films in the franchise.
Wider connections to the MCU include Deadpool and Wolverine jumping into a portal at the end of the trailer, with many speculating it must be linked to Dr Strange.
Deadpool and Wolverine is released in UK cinemas on July 26.
