‘Got to respect the hustle!’ impressed people say as they spot Vinted seller’s VERY unique way of promoting their items

WITH Vinted arguably the biggest selling site in the country, people are always looking for ways to grab buyers’ attention.

And one person has been praised for their “hustle”, after using a very unique way to promote their items.

Someone took to Reddit to share pictures of the Vinted page, with the seller using a cardboard cutout of Taylor Swift to model their clothes.

In one snap of the Taylor cutout wearing a cream bomber jacket, the seller had written “Taylor Swift fav”.

“Just scrolling and came across this seller’s page,” the poster titled their Reddit thread.

And people in the comments section were quick to praise the woman for her ingenuity in trying to sell her clothes.

“Got respect the hustle… however possible!” one wrote.

“What a great idea!” another praised.

As a third said: “If it works, it works!”

“The dedication!” someone else wrote.

“I sometimes come across this seller who always photoshops a really big Venetian mask head thingy over her head, it’s amazing!”

“That’s hilarious, lol,” another commented.

“Game is game,” someone else said.

As another remarked: “Lmao those 3rd and 4th dresses fit perfectly!”

While others said they were now considering using their own cardboard cutout to sell their clothes.

“I found Dobby cutout on Amazon for £20,” one wrote.

“Imagine doing that to sell socks!

“I’ve never sold anything on Vinted even though I’ve had my account since like beginning of its existence.

New Vinted rules to be aware of

IF you fancy clearing out your wardrobe and getting rid of your old stuff on Vinted, you’ll need to consider the new rules that recently came into play.

If people are selling personal items for less than they paid new (which is generally the case for second-hand sales), there is no impact on tax.
However, since January 1, digital platforms, including eBay, Airbnb, Etsy, Amazon and Vinted, must share seller information with HMRC as part of a crackdown.
You’re unlikely to be affected if you only sell a handful of second-hand items online each year – generally, only business sellers trading for profit might need to pay tax.
A tax-free allowance of £1,000 has been in place since 2017 for business sellers trading for profit – the only time that an individual personal item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit from the sale.
However, firms now have to pass on your data to HMRC if you sell 30 or more items a year or earn over £1,700.
It is part of a wider tax crackdown to help ensure that those who boost their income via side hustles pay up what they owe.
While your data won’t be shared with HMRC if you earn between £1,000 and £1,700, you’ll still need to pay tax as normal.

“I may finally pull the plug man and get on with it!”

“I have a David Attenborough cut out I’m going to do this with,” another said.

“I saw a The Rock cut out on fb marketplace,” a third commented.

“I so would have done this!”

“I have a Severus Snape cutout… but with my clothes he’d wind up looking like Neville’s boggart!” someone else laughed.

“A while ago I saw a seller modelling a dress on a giant Percy Pig plushie,” another said.
