WWE has crowned a new Women’s World Champion after Rhea Ripley suffered a heartbreaking injury earlier this month.
The Judgment Day’s Mami successfully retained her title at WrestleMania 40 against Becky Lynch before getting hurt in a scuffle with Liv Morgan two nights later on Monday Night Raw.
On last night’s show, a Battle Royal was held in the main event to determine a new champ after Rhea was forced to vacate the title, and it was Becky and Liv battling it out as the final two.
In the end, The Man eliminated her rival to become a seven-time world champion, despite rumours she would be taking time off after WrestleMania.
Rhea was watching from home, and she had a particularly savage response after seeing the way the match ended, with Liv coming up short and Becky holding the title above her head.
She tweeted: ‘The forever runner up and the interim champ. #WWERAW’

Becky won the vacant championship in the main event on Monday night, outlasting 13 other superstars with the likes of Nia Jax, Candice LeRae, Chelsea Green and Liv all battling for the gold.
In the end, the Irish icon was triumphant just weeks after falling short at WrestleMania 40.
However, Rhea’s injury forced WWE into a corner as their dominant champion is expecting to miss a few months of action due to a shoulder injury.

At the start of last week’s show, the star – who was visibly fighting back tears – confirmed she had been told to give up her championship and would be gone for ‘quite a few months’.
She vowed to come back for blood, before Liv herself came out on the stage and two rivals had to be separated by security.
The Eradicator won the title from Charlotte Flair at last year’s WrestleMania in a bout which recently won the Slammy Award for Match of the Year.

In the past, Rhea has leaned on some of her Judgment Day teammates – including Damian Priest, Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio – during tough moments, including other spells out of action due to injury.
After a lengthy layoff two years ago, she admitted the group were her rock as she worked hard to recover and get back in the ring.
She exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘It definitely helped mentally, ’cause having time off when you’re in such a busy schedule all the time, it is very weird.
‘You start questioning a lot of things, so being a part of the Judgment Day, and going out there and still supporting my boys, doing promos and all that, just being in front of the camera, still on the road – it was a good distraction.’
WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1.
