Horrendous Kirstie Alley story about her ‘racist’ mum’s shocking death resurfaces -Kitty Chrisp-Entertainment – Metro
What on earth…
Kirstie Alley described what her parents were wearing when they were involved in a car crash that killed her mother
An interview with the late American actress Kirstie Alley has resurfaced in which she described the disgusting costumes her parents were dressed in when her mother died in a car crash.
Alley, who died in 2022 aged 71 after a colon cancer diagnosis, was best known for roles in US TV series including Cheers, Veronica’s Closet, Look Who’s Talking, and Scream Queens.
Before Alley shot to fame though, she suffered a family tragedy when her mother Lillian Maxine Alley died in a car crash in 1981 aged 58, in which her father Robert Deal Alley, who has since died, was seriously injured in.
Now, a 1996 interview with Barbara Walters has resurfaced, in which actress Alley recalled the death of her mother and revealed her parents were on their way to a Halloween party when it happened.
But what came next in her story – which was recollected with fondness by Alley – is truly unbelievable.
Alley described how her mother was in blackface when she died, with her father dressed as a member of racist terrorist organisation, the Ku Klux Klan.
Unbelievably, the actor was laughing about it
‘My sister and I were all sitting in this waiting room sobbing,’ Alley recalled, ‘and I asked, “Where were they going?”‘
‘And she said, “to a Halloween party,” and I said, “What were they dressed as?” and she said, “The odd couple,” and I was thinking, what odd couple?’
Alley then recalled how she asked, ‘”What were their costumes exactly?”‘ to which her sister revealed: ‘”Mum was a Black girl and dad was a Ku Klux Klan member.”‘
In the interview, Alley then shockingly burst into laughter at the memory, and explained how that was her whole family’s reaction to this disturbing revelation.
What’s more, the famous actor added: ‘It was the greatest tribute that you could give my mother.’
In the comments section of the resurfaced clip X users were understandably fraught.

‘How the f**k do you casually refer to that as “the odd couple”‘ asked user @evilbilboxbl, while Lisa Flanagan added, stunned: ‘IT WAS “THE GREATEST TRIBUTE YOU COULD GIVE MY MOTHER”?????’
‘I’m floored,’ added @CAKESDAKILLA, while @pmoreforarmor said: ‘THE GASP I LET OUT.’
Cherrie White, who was driving over the alcohol limit, crashed into them and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour charge and was sentenced to one year in prison plus time in rehab.
White said she was 27 and going through a bitter divorce at the time.
In 2022, Alley’s death was confirmed in a statement from her children, William Stevenson and Lillie Price Stevenson reading: ‘We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.’
Stars from all over the world paid tribute to her, including the likes of John Travolta, Kelsey Grammer, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Alleywas a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and a scientologist.
