TV presenter Kate Garraway is apparently the real life Bridget Jones as so much of her life has been ‘echoed’ by the romcom icon.
In honour of Good Morning Britain’s 10th anniversary, the team was looking back at their favourite moments from the last decade.
For Kate, 56, one of her highlights was meeting Renée Zellweger, the legendary actress who starred as the hopeless romantic for three — soon to be four — films.
They joined forces in 2016 when the Chicago star ‘came into the gallery to watch how our show is put together’ for the sequel.
She went on to reveal that they had ‘even used some of [the] studio crew in the filming’ of Bridget Jones’s Baby.
The plot followed Bridget as she worked for fictional news TV show, Hard News, which took inspiration from the popular ITV morning show.

Kate continued: ‘Then I went onto the set of Bridget’s bedroom and she said, “Welcome to your home.” So much of my life seems to have echoed the character Bridget Jones’ adventures!’
She didn’t clarify what moments exactly had been reflected in the story of Bridget, who had two men — played by Hugh Grant and Colin Firth — fighting over her in the first film.
Renee, 54, had been on set researching how morning news TV works in preparation for the sequel.
Mirroring real life incredibly closely, the show’s former director, Erron Gordon, even took on a role in the film as the director of Hard News.

Bridget Jones’ Baby went on to gross over $211 million worldwide on a budget of $35 million, with generally positive reviews.
Kate also mentioned the coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth II as a memorable moment which had been an ‘honour’.
She shared: ‘It was such an honour to be part of it, a real sense of history. Being there as a commentator at Buckingham Palace in the days after her passing and then again throughout the funeral day itself.’
The GMB presenter has taken time off the morning show after the death of her husband, Derek Draper from long Covid complications.
In January she announced that her husband of almost 10 years had died at the age of 56 with his final year documented in an ITV documentary.
