Will Young revealed that he still speaks to his late twin brother who died in 2020 after taking his own life.
Will’s twin brother Rupert died in 2020 after taking his own life after a long journey with alcohol and drug abuse. Will’s spoken about his grief after his death, but in a new interview, he has revealed that he still speaks regularly to his late brother.
The star, 45, revealed that he has spoken with two mediums and has plans to chat to a third to contact his late brother.
‘I said I’d see three mediums so I’ve seen two so I’ve got one more to go. Sometimes he tells me – and I’m a bit witchy as well and he was very witchy, so if there was ever anyone that was going to get in touch, it would be him – and quite a few weird things have happened.’
He told Elizabeth Day on the How to Fail podcast, that he ‘won’t share’ specific incidents, but did speak about how his brother told him to get back in contact with old friends.
‘Sometimes he tells me to get in touch with other people, which is weird. Friends, old friends, so then I have to ring them up and go “Rupert’s bloody bringing you into my dreams and are you ok?”’

The Leave Right Now singer said that his brother often comes to him in his dreams and he said he has ‘visions’ from his late twin.
‘I get visions, often my communication with him comes in dreams and I wake up and I’m like, “Oh he came in and he bought like a very old friend.”
He added that his visions led him to reach out to an old friend who turned out to be in need. ‘[There was one] who he bought to me recently and I was just checking in with them and they weren’t doing great so I was like ‘Well Done Rupert.’

Will spoke about kicking his twin brother out weeks before he died and said in the podcast interview that he had to accept that he couldn’t save him.
While he has struggled with his grief, he now revealed that he thinks being a twin has made it ‘less hard.’
‘Everyone thinks being a twin must be like even worse – the rip, the grief, the ripping apart of someone leaving this earth – but actually, I feel him the whole time so it’s quite beautiful.
‘I was talking to him today! You know it really is beautiful! So weirdly I think being a twin has made it less hard.’

He concluded that he wants to keep speaking about grief in the hope that it encourages other people who are mourning to do the same.
‘I’m not the only person to have lost someone and I think it’s important to talk about it, and give other people permission.’
