Diehard Football Manager fans have taken to social media to suggest how the game’s AI can be improved and why player valuations are wrong.
Football Manager 2024 launched back in November as one of the best football simulators in a long time, taking another step towards ultimate realism with smarter AI and enhanced tactics for more positional play.
It’s not perfect though, and developer Sports Interactive know their fans are all too keen to let them know if something can be improved, as studio director Miles Jacobson himself acknowledges.
That’s why there are currently two popular posts on Reddit talking about what could be better in this autumn’s Football Manager 2025, with suggestions ranging from more realistic valuations to an even smarter AI.
The top criticism of Football Manager 2024, and what many fans want improved in its successor, is an AI that’s better at squad building, so that the opposing clubs in the game can build better and more logical squads.
This has been an ongoing critique on social media since the last game launched, as clubs sometimes buy players they don’t use, or ignore great players they already have.
‘It’s always fun to check the Premier League after the first few years to see which players have been inexplicably shunned. AI Ange [Postecoglou] just doesn’t seem to rate Pedro Porro at all in my current save,’ GenSec said on Reddit.
Fans also want more dynamic fluctuations in players’ market value, with Qouth The Corvus saying:
‘A guy who’s running super hot should definitely have his price rise. On the flipside, a player who’s out of form, or unhappy, should have their price drop. Unsettling a player is possible in the game already, but it has no benefit as the price won’t change.’
Other suggestions included better player interactions, so players don’t get mad at you for congratulating them on their first goal, and a mode where you can just control the recruitment side of the business as a sports director.

Some of these suggestions are old, some are new, but Football Manager director Jacobson has said that they do look at fan forums for feedback.
So if you have a burning suggestion for a new feature in Football Manager 2025, get to the forums and it might just be added to the game.
