Former bride torn apart after bragging she ‘got compliments’ wearing her reject WEDDING dress to another woman’s big day

A FORMER bride has been blasted by showing up to a friend’s nuptials in her spare wedding dress.

Wearing white to someone else’s wedding day is a taboo that’s as old as time – but one woman decided to take it to the next level.

As reported by The Mirror, rather than forking out for a new gown for her pal’s romantic ceremony, the thrifty fashionista decided to wear her second-choice wedding frock.

She was bragging that the posh  floor-length gown, designed by Alice Temperley, got her ”so many compliments”.

However now she has worn it once, the woman is ready to part ways with it, flogging it on Amazon for a little over £160.

Sharing a little bit more information about the designer garment, the seller wrote: “Wore this once recently as a guest to a wedding and got so many compliments.

”It has since been professionally dry-cleaned.

I really hope it was a wedding where people were encouraged to wear white

”I originally bought it to be my wedding dress, but was outvoted by my mum who wanted me in something more traditional.

“Would work great as a special occasion gown or as a wedding dress for an edgier bride. The back is stunning.”

The advert was later spotted by a gobsmacked online shopper who took a screenshot of it and raced to Reddit to share the discovery.

“Seller openly admits to wearing a wedding dress as a guest,” the stunned Amazon customer wrote in the caption of the post.

In response, a fellow user said: “Anyone else notice the comment about an ‘edgier bride’ can maybe wear it?

“I mean, that isn’t what I would call an ‘edgy’ dress unless you’re stupid enough to try wearing it to someone else’s wedding at least…”

Another chimed in: “If she actually got compliments, I really hope it was a wedding where people were encouraged to wear white.

”But otherwise, geeezzzz…”

Bridal expert reveals the must-have trends for 2024

Event whizz Tsitsi Lynn Makuni claimed that mini gowns, wearing bows for tying the knot and donning bold accessories are among this season’s must-haves for marriage, The Sun reported earlier.
RING THE CHANGES – brides are opting for not one, but two dresses.
HITCH UP THE SKIRTS – short dresses were a huge hit at the Scottish Wedding Show’s October Catwalk and Tsitsi said more bridal boutiques are now offering shorter styles.
BRIGHT NOT WHITE – white and ivory dresses are no longer a given as more designers offer pastel options, and we will see a demand in more bold colours too.
BE BOLD – the accessories, too, will be as bold as our dresses. Expect to see dramatic headbands, pearl-embellished veils, elegant gloves and retro sunglasses.
TAKE A BOW – from small bows on headpieces and shoes to oversized bows on dresses, this is a wedding trend that’s showing no signs of slowing down, the expert revealed.

A third reckoned: “Why do I get the feeling it was petty revenge on someone?

“She said her mum wouldn’t let her wear this dress to her own wedding, I wonder who’s wedding she wore it to. Her mum’s?”

Someone else thought: “I’m betting that the compliments were along the lines of ‘How brave of you!’ and ‘That’s really bold of you!’, and the like. Which is why she thinks this dress is ‘edgy’.”
