WWE superstar AJ Styles has pulled back the curtain on having real police officers at the recent home invasion skit at his actual house.
The former world champion has been embroiled in a months-long bitter rivalry with fellow wrestler LA Knight, which saw them face off at WrestleMania before clashing in a rematch last week on SmackDown.
As part of the storyline, Knight tried to get revenge against Styles, who had flown to Australia to cost him a chance at the World Heavyweight Title in the Elimination Chamber match.
It led to the megastar arriving at the Phenomenal One’s home, sparking a brawl on the front lawn until he was taken away by police, and Styles has exclusively told Metro.co.uk that real officers were on the scene.
‘It was great. Honestly, it was something that I personally wanted to do to make it personal. This isn’t, you know – I’m going back and forth between Allen Jones and AJ Styles at this point,’ he said, admitting he was breaking character for our interview.
‘But it was something that I wanted to do. I wanted to get out of the ring, and out of the arena, and take it somewhere different. Going back to where it used to be, honestly, you know?

‘And I thought that was more entertaining, and that’s what we got to do – and having the cops cooperate was so awesome.’
He admitted the officers they brought in for the filming was ‘real cops’, and they threw themselves into the action.
He added: ‘In Gainesville, we were in my hometown, they were called on – oh, they were real cops, and didn’t play around either! They were big dudes, and they were bad dudes. So we were certainly blessed to have those guys.’

During the chaotic scenes, Styles – who has been looking more ripped than ever after an incredible body transformation – was sitting at home for an interview with WWE discussing grudge match.
However, not long into the chat he rushed outside after hearing a car horn repeatedly beeping, with WWE’s camera followed him onto the lawn where Knight, 41, immediately started trash talking Styles before going on the attack.
The storyline moment involved officers – who we now know were genuine law enforcement – taking Knight away.

Despite the late night shoot, veteran wrestler Styles admitted he’s dealt with lower temperatures, and the whole thing ‘turned out exactly’ as he’d hoped.
‘There have been colder nights. But that one wasn’t so bad,’ he smiled. ‘But it turned out, in my mind – it turned out exactly the way I way I wanted it, with the dash cam and the body cam. It was perfect!’
The duo took their wrestling rivalry all over to bring a sense of unpredictability, and shortly after our interview on the night before WrestleMania 40 kicked off in Philadelphia, they came to blows.

As we were queuing to speak to Knight, the two stars started shouting at each other before erupting into a bloody brawl with reporters looking on.
Two weeks after their WrestleMania clash, the two men collided one more time in the finals of a SmackDown tournament to determine the first challenger for new Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Styles won that match, and he will now face off with the American Nightmare in a first time ever match at Backlash in Lyon, France next weekend.
WWE Backlash comes from Lyon, France on April 4. Tune in 6pm via the WWE Network.
