20 years after he last starred on the show in the UK, Gordon Ramsay is rumoured to be making his Hell’s Kitchen return, but, it may not be on the cards just yet.

The show that gave us the ‘Idiot Sandwich’ and ‘It’s raaaaaaaw’ was reported to be making a comeback.

Kitchen Nightmares star Gordon, 57, starred on the first series of the UK programme, which ran between 2004 and 2009, before handing over his head chef role to Gary Rhodes and Jean-Christophe Novelli for season two, and Marco Pierre White for the final two instalments.

The Traitors’ Claudia Winkleman also presented the programme when it was last on our screens, while one year after Gordon left the UK series, he started the long-running American programme, which has gone on for 22 seasons.

And it was claimed he was going to be coming back to this side of the pond.

An insider said: ‘Early conversations are happening and ITV are very excited about the prospect of it returning.

‘It is one of Gordon’s biggest shows around the world by miles and is broadcast to around 100 countries – so it really is huge.’

They added to The Sun: ‘The real hurdle for him will be fitting it in among his other commitments, but everyone seems thrilled at the mere idea.’

The publication notes that the new host has not been confirmed and talks are at ‘such an early stage’ that the start date for filming is undecided.

It adds that the it is ‘unlikely’ to be next year as dad-of-six Gordon has numerous commitments on his hands over the next 18 months.

However, Metro.co.uk understands that this is all speculation.

This comes after two of Chef Ramsay’s other UK shows were axed (Picture: 20thC.Fox/Everett/REX/Shutterstock)

The rumours come after Gordon Ramsay’s BBC cooking show was axed after just two seasons.

It was confirmed last year that Future Food Stars wouldn’t be returning for a third season, weeks after claims Gordon’s ITV show Next Level Chef was also canned due to failing to attract viewers.

Metro.co.uk has approached ITV and Gordon Ramsay’s reps for comment.

Hell’s Kitchen is available to watch on ITVX.
