The Piano winner Lucy has continued to inspire her fans on Instagram one year after appearing on the Channel 4 show.
Presented by Claudia Winkleman, the programme follows judges Mika and Lang Lang hunt for the UK’s best amateur pianists before culminating in a concert at the Royal Festival Hall featuring four chosen finalists.
Lucy, who is blind, was eventually crowned champion of the competition aged just 13 on The Piano’s first season in 2023, having left viewers in tears on multiple occasions over her talent.
Ahead of the music programme’s second season launch tonight, Lang, 41, recalled being bowled over by her ‘crazy’ musical ability in an interview with Classic FM.
He said: ‘I was just starting to play the Pavane by Gabriel Fauré for fun and then she started playing with me by ear. Yeah! It’s crazy.’
Lang continued: ‘I was totally blown away by Lucy when we met her atLeeds station and I just thought it was impossible to have someone like that. She’s a miracle kid.’

He added: ‘She knows everything by ear. It’s remarkable. It will be really hard to find someone like her again.’
Lucy’s official Instagram account reposted the clip and dozens of admiring fans shared their admiration in the comments section.
Among them was Jenny Band, who enthused: ‘She is a real wonder child.’
Maria Vera remarked: ‘Lucy is so amazing!!! Gotta love her.’

Echoing their sentiment, Karen Travis added: ‘What a lovely tribute to Lucy.’
Lucy stunned The Piano viewers over her first audition in Leeds railway station as she played her rendition of Chopin’s Nocturne in B-flat minor.
It is up for the Bafta for TV Moment of the Year, competing against the likes of David Beckham’s teasing of wife Victoria about her ‘working class’ roots and Logan Roy’s shock death in Succession. The winner will be announced on May 12.
After being named the winner of The Piano, Lucy performed Debussy’s Arabesque No1 in front of 2,000 people at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Lucy was also named an International Ambassador at The Lang Lang International Music Foundation, joining the likes of Jools Holland and Sting to advocate music education.
She rounded off an incredible 2023 with a special performance with Gregory Porter of Silent Night at Kings Cross station.
The Piano starts tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
