A Twitch streamer has found a very creative way to let his viewers voice the characters in Skyrim, and the result is just what you’d expect.
A popular way for fans to give their favourite games new life is through modifying them with new content, with one recent example being Fallout 4 fans adding the characters from the TV adaptation into the video game.
It’s a risky business though, with some developers, including Skyrim maker Bethesda, helping facilitate fan mods, while others, such as Nintendo, threatening fans with legal action if they don’t remove their mods.
Modding can spark some great moments, however, and one Twitch streamer has found a way to let his fans voice the non-playable characters while he plays Skyrim, resulting in some hilarious interactions.
Twitch streamer Blurbs foreshadowed what would happen once he activated his mod, saying, ‘Chat can live-voice NPCs [non-playable characters], it’s going to go horribly.’
And it did, but in a funny way, with one example being a character that he’d approached, saying, ‘Hey there, kid. You want some drugs?’
A child character was voiced by another viewer, who said: ‘I hear there’s an adventurer abducting children from their homes, and bringing them with him on his twisted journey.’
Many of the interactions were sexually explicit in nature, which Blurbs found amusing at first but not so much later in the livestream.
Another element to the mod, which made it ever funnier, was that if the fan’s character in the game died, they were banned in Blurbs’ Twitch channel.
The mod lets fans use text-to-speech to voice the characters in Skyrim, with subtitles in real-time. Exactly how Blurbs created the mod is unclear, but he said he would upload a video on YouTube showing how he did it in the next few weeks.

The mod isn’t available to download, because Blurbs said he doesn’t know how to add all the different software into on package, so other modders won’t have the chance to add it to other games for now.
It didn’t work perfectly though, as there was a significant wait for new input from fans who voiced the characters, while Blurbs tried to hold a conversation with them.
But it’s a very clever way to engage with his viewers, which could become a new trend in streaming video games. You can watch some of the funniest moments in the tweet below.
