If you have ever wondered what The Simpsons would look like in real life, your curiosity has now been satisfied.

The main cast of the beloved cartoon, including Homer and Marge Simpson, have been transformed into live-action characters for a mock-up movie trailer.

The clip shows the most popular Springfield residents as actual people living in the 1950s – and you’ll never be able to look at Ned Flanders in the same way again.

Created by X account @demonflyingfox, the likes of Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson, Mr Burns, Millhouse and Sideshow Bob have all been given the AI treatment.

The results have shocked social media users including @Maverykmedia who remarked: ‘Creepy but I’m all here for it.’

Echoing their sentiment, @Ian_A_Irwin commented simply: ‘Uncanny valley creepiness. I love it.’

Dozens of others praised the trailer for its brilliance and demanded Disney make a live-action version of The Simpsons.

Some have also been casting the characters, with several pointing out the real-life version of Ned Flanders in the trailer resembled Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston.

It is not the first time The Simpsons has been given a radically different new look.

Some social media users believed Ned Flanders looked like a famous Hollywood actor (Picture: Demonflyingfox)

We can’t deny there is a likeness between Bryan and Ned (Picture: PA)

Even Millhouse features in the ‘brilliantly creepy’ trailer (Picture: Demonflyingfox)

Sideshow Bob was of course hovering near the knives in the clip (Picture: Demonflyingfox)

Mr Burns in real life is frankly the stuff of nightmares (Picture: Demonflyingfox)

In 2021, comedian Alasdair Beckett-King reimagined the classic animated comedy as if it was set in the UK, swapping the well-known American accents for British manners and sensibility.

For example, addressing Bart, Homer says: ‘Ah, Bartholomew, out for another day of whimsical japes.’

‘Do not have a cow, father,’ Bart replies, in impeccable Received Pronunciation.

In recent years, The Simpsons has gained a reputation for seeing into the future – from the presidency of Donald Trump to Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance.

It also appeared to predict the Coronavirus pandemic with a 1993 episode in which the residents of Springfield are struck by a highly infectious disease, demanding a cure from resident physician, Doctor Hibbert.

Created by Matt Groening, The Simpsons first aired in 1989 and more than 700 episodes have been produced.

The Simpsons is available to stream on Disney Plus.
