Shirley Ballas is set to be put through her paces by Bear Grylls in his new Netflix reality series.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 63, has appeared on the beloved BBC series since 2017.

This year she also featured on The Masked Singer, with Shirley now reportedly being locked in for the line-up of another reality show – Bear Hunt.

The competition series will see Bear, 49, hunt down celebrities into a Central American jungle, with former This Morning host Holly Willoughby on presenting duty.

Filming is due to start this month, with cast members currently in rehearsals enduring rigorous fitness tests to ensure they can cope with the intense and gruelling conditions.

Once rehearsals and health and safety checks are complete, the 12 stars taking part in the ‘game of cat and mouse’ are set to be confirmed.

Celebrities currently reported to be appearing include Spice Girl Mel B, 48, and rugby union star Danny Cipriani, 36, as well as ballroom star Shirley.

‘Shirley is a fabulous choice, and is impressively fit thanks to years of ballroom dancing,’ a source said.

‘She will be able to show off her strength and determination and show Strictly viewers a whole other side to her,’ they added when speaking to The Mirror.

The reports come after Shirley this week revealed she had been given the all-clear for cancer after undergoing two mammograms, one ultrasound and three biopsies last week.

‘I am feeling blessed to share that my results have come back all clear – there is no cancer present,’ she posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

‘I feel it is only right for me to share both the highs and lows of my life. If I was able to help just one lady, then sharing my picture was worth it.

Shirley then urged others to stay on top of their health checks.

‘Please do not put your mammogram, smear test or in fact any appointment off. They really can change your life. Who knows what might have happened if I put mine off?’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Netflix and representatives for Shirley Ballas for comment.

Strictly Come Dancing is streaming on BBC iPlayer. Bear Hunt will air on Netflix in 2025.
