Marks & Spencer‘s latest purse-friendly piece which will save you thousands is a cosy cardigan that looks a lot like a high-end Chanel number, which typically retails around the eye-watering £4,000 mark.
Priced at an affordable £35, their latest addition to the fashion aisles – Cotton Blend Textured Crew Neck Cardigan – is screaming ‘old money’, without the old money budget.
I love it. Looks so Chanel

The elegant yet sophisticated garment comes in black and ivory, both of which shoppers can purchase in-store and online.
The chic cardi, which is available in sizes XS to XL, features a regular fit and a cosy cotton-blend fabric that’s perfect for spring layering.
The bargain buy is elevated with tipped trims at the crew neckline, cuffs and hem, while the gold buttons add feel of luxury.
Whether you’ll be wearing a pair of jeans, basic trousers, or the on-trendy A-line skirt, the cardigan is versatile and fit for everyday wear.
The budget-friendly price tag is also a plus – which is why it comes as no surprise that one person has already given the garment a gleaming five-star review.
“I love it. Looks so Chanel. I will wear with pearl strand necklaces & black trousers.
”Looks classy. Very pleased. I got the black with cream trim.”
However, not everyone’s been impressed with the material, as one disappointed customer left a two-star rating.
‘”Excellent style but very heavy. Disappointing as was hoping for tidy cardigan for warmer days.
”Will be returning. I don’t know how fits as didn’t try it on.”
Don’t have a M&S nearby? The high street is full of similar style cardigans and there’s one for every budget.
A similar style from Mango, for instance, will cost you slightly more at £49.99.
Shoppers looking to slash the costs even more can check out H&M’s Textured Cardigan, which is currently on sale for around £16.
Why Everyone Is Loving M&S
Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the shop of the moment. She explained:
“M&S has really pulled it out of the bag this season, there is so much good product to be excited about.
“A brand once known for its ‘frumpy fashion’ that notion is long gone with it now being one of the leading high street stores for womenswear.
“Its handbag range in particular is super strong with them selling 170% vs plan, with lots more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price.
“The brand is now also the #1 for style perceptions, compared to the #3 spot it had last year, this comes from a really strong design team focused on modernising the brand, not only taking into consideration how the pieces look, but how easy they are to wear also.
“Price is also a big factor with you being able to get many good quality pieces all for under £30.
“After having a sneak peak of the upcoming collection there are so many more amazing pieces that are dropping over the next few months to keep your eyes on.
“Think leopard print dresses, colourful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and amazing accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year on year.”
This adorable number, running in sizes XS to XXL, comes in three neutral colours – black, grey and baby blue.
However, if you want to snap it up, best act quick, as some sizes are already running low in stock.
Heading out to do some shopping in the next few days? This is not the only purse-friendly wardrobe essential fashionistas have been loving.
Style enthusiasts have also been raving over a dress that ”pulls you in all the right places” and a pair of trousers that are ”a great addition” to your wardrobe.
