Rizzle Kicks have announced that they are set to return and make music together again after parting ways nearly 10 years ago.

British pop-duo Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule revealed that they are bringing the band back together on Jordan’s podcast, The Red Carpet Treatment.

The popstars parted ways back in 2015 after they released their last song, a cover of Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.

After this, the duo both went on to develop acting careers and solo music ventures.

Speaking about their return Jordan, 32, said: ‘I think our music has aged very well and I think that we, this is my guess, we are reminiscent of a time in British history, 2012, which was pretty optimistic.

‘We had the Olympics, pre-Covid, pre-Brexit, pre-Trump, people were living their lives man.’

Fans were delighted with this news and took to social media to share their excitement.

‘This is the best news I could have gotten this week. RIZZLE KICKS SUMMER ✨,’ said @yeahsurethingbro.

@danielrt11 commented: ‘Honestly think these two were ahead of their time a little bit. Looking forward to see what they sound like now.’ @itsabratzb***h wrote: ‘I was obsessed with rizzle kicks 😭 can’t wait !!’

The band had huge success between 2011 and 2013 with their two albums Stereo Typical and Roaring 20s.

Rizzle Kicks had a number of charting songs and a number one hit on a collaboration with Olly Murs, titled Heart Skips a Beat. The song debuted at number one in the UK charts on the week of it’s release in 2011.

The band, which is best known for their hits Skip To The Good Bit, Mama Do The Hump, and Down With The Trumpets, spoke about why they decided to split almost a decade ago.

‘It’d be interesting to talk about that period of time where we stopped making music a little bit,’ said Harley, 32, turning the conversation to their split.

‘We were both, very much not in a position to be popstars at that time.’

Jordan replied: ‘But yeah, we took a break because I was doing loads of drugs.

‘I had crippling anxiety,’ added Harley as they agreed their health was suffering because of their music careers.

Harley reminisced on the exact day they decided to take a break from Rizzle Kicks. ‘I remember the day we decided to stop and it was one of the most depressing days of my life.’

Harley explained that he suffered from a panic attack after performing at a festival. ‘Performing in front of 15, 20,000 people or whatever, and coming off and feeling worse than you did when you went on stage. I was like, that’s not right,’ he said.

‘And I think we both just looked at each other like yeah, nah that’s not the one.’

Outside of his music career, Jordan has been in a relationship with Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall since 2020 and is set to release an autobiography this year called, Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak, and Dogs.

Jordan has been hosting the podcast from the Brits since August 2023 when he took over from Nella Rose. The show is currently on its third season, and has hosted many celebrity guests including Roman Kemp, James Bay, and Nicola Roberts.

Harley has been focusing on acting and notably appeared in Unforgotten in 2015. He has also been releasing music as a solo artist under the name Jimi Charles Moody.
