The home Matthew Perry bought just five months before his death last year has been put on the market for a whopping $5,000,000.

Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the hit US sitcom Friends, was found ‘unresponsive in the pool at his residence’ aged 54 on October 28, 2023.

He never got a chance to enjoy the Hollywood Hills mansion he had purchased for $4,995,000 as part of a downsizing plan.

The full-furnished home at 1479 Rising Glen Road has been put back on the market at slightly more than Perry’s purchase price.

While it may be smaller than other mansions, the house is still a three bed four bath home with a huge 2,566 square feet built on a 9,622 square foot lot.

The classic LA house has plenty of sliding glass doors and a swimming pool as it perches above Sunset Strip with a huge gated driveway.

Perry had not moved into the property when he drowned at another residence after suffering the ‘acute effects of ketamine’.

Over the years, the 17 Again star had built a robust property portfolio and is thought to have made over $35million in sales.

The DailyMail reports he was replacing the larger homes with downsized places, having bought his first one from the money he made on Friends season one.

‘It’s the law when you have a successful sitcom: Between the first and second seasons, you buy a house,’ he told the Toronto Star at the time.

The two-bedroom LA mansion was then sold in 2001 for $839,000 but is now worth around $2 million.

He had already moved out when this sale happened, heading to a 6,500-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills in 1999 for a reported $3.2 million.

Glass walls, saunas, and swimming pools were frequent features of the luxury homes throughout Perry’s portfolio.

The Fools Rush In star also bought Elton John’s former two-bedroom condo in the Sierra Towers building, West Hollywood, in 2005 for about $2.5 million.

The next year he purchased yet another Sunset Strip property for $1.7million, which he flipped and sold for an impressive $5.695 million in 2014.

He then moved yet again in 2008 to Carman Crest Drive, which he paid $4.475million for and sold five years later for $4.6million.

Padding out the portfolio was a three-bedroom home in the Hollywood Hills which is estimated at around $8.5 million.

His more eyewatering properties included his ‘kick-ass Malibu beach house’, which cost him a cool $12million and sold in 2020 for slightly more than that.

A crown jewel was the 2017 mansion he purchased for an incredible $21million, which he called his ‘mansion in the sky.

At the time of his death he was staying at his $6million cottage in Pacific Palisades area of LA.

Usually, profits from any estate sale are allocated or divided up between beneficiaries of the will, which includes ex-girlfriend Rachel Dunn, whom Perry dated from 2003 until 2005.

Perry’s father John Perry, mother Suzanne Morrison, and his half-sister Caitlin Morrison are all named as well.

The star also left over $1million (£781,475) to the trustees of the Alvy Singer Living Trust, named after the main character Allen portrayed in his 1977 film Annie Hall.
