Anne Winters has revealed that she’s receiving treatment for malnutrition after fans expressed concern about her appearance in recent weeks.
The Netflix actress, 29, starred in one of the streaming platform’s biggest original productions, 13 Reasons Why, playing Chloe Rice in seasons two, three, and four.
Fears for the actress’ health started a few weeks ago, when Anne appeared underweight in several videos and pictures uploaded to her Instagram page.
Anne’s followers picked up on signs that she was continuing to lose weight, with one fan begging her to find a ‘safe space’ to heal and start to get better.
Now Anne has addressed the issue in a new video uploaded to Instagram, in which she explained that she is currently receiving medical treatment for malnutrition.
In the video, she said: ‘Guys! I’m so excited, because guess what, I received the gift of help this week. I know you a lot of you guys have been really worried about me on Instagram.

‘I also have been keeping up with my doctor and things like that. I wasn’t trying to get like this. I wasn’t trying to get this skinny, I don’t want to be this skinny either.’
Malnutrition occurs when a person doesn’t consume enough calories, protein, and other nutrients over a period of time, causing severe weight loss, exhaustion, and a weakened immune system.
Anne explained further: ‘I want to just let everyone know, it’s really freakin’ hard to get help. I know we all talk about mental health, and just go and get help, but you guys think this is easy, like 1, 2, 3.’

She added that finding help had become so difficult that she had to leave the United States to get treatment, and that a lot of places only accept malnutrition cases in people younger than 25.
But she assured fans that she had now ‘made it to treatment’ and was working on getting permission to share her journey to recovery on social media.
The Night School actress admitted that she hadn’t spotted signs of malnutrition because she ‘never had signs of weakness and had so much energy’.
‘It’s crazy how my body was maybe on its last leg of survival,’ she said.

Before appearing in 13 Reasons Why, Anne starred as Carly in Mom and Dad, a film starring Nicolas Cage, in which a mass hysteria virus causes parents to turn violently on their own children.
After the end of the flasgship Netflix series, Anne starred in The Orville, the Seth MacFarlane space-themed comedy set 400 years in the future.
13 Reasons Why is available to stream on Netflix.
