Drake’s security guard has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a shooting near his home in Toronto, it has been claimed.

Officers were called out to the Bridle Path area of the city over reports of a shooting in the early hours of this morning.

According to a tweet from the official Toronto Police Operations account, officers were alerted to the incident at 2.09am and rushed to the scene at Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East.

A spokesperson reportedly told CityNews that the rapper – real name Aubrey Graham – did not sustain injuries, and was not believed to have been home.

The Toronto Sun reports that the unnamed man was a member of Drake’s security team, and was ‘transported to hospital with serious injuries’, while the suspect ‘fled in a vehicle’.

Their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, the outlet reports, but no further information has been shared on his identity.

He was allegedly rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital for treatment and underwent emergency surgery, after sustaining an injury to his upper chest.

Police officers have not shared a description of the suspect or the vehicle that he fled the scene in.

According to multiple US news outlets, there is currently a police presence near the Grammy-winner’s home – and the area has been cordoned off – but he has yet to speak out over the claims.

Drake is thought to have offered to co-operate with officers.

The Too Good star has rarely been out of the headlines in recent weeks, following his ongoing feud with fellow musician Kendrick Lamar, as they continue to trade insults via diss tracks.

Last month, the Humble star sent fans into meltdown as he featured on Metro Boomin and Future’s Euphoria, which appeared to be a direct response to the singer’s First Person Shooter track, released last year.

He then dropped 6:16 in LA, taking even more personal shots at the singer – who later responded with Family Matters.

Kendrick subsequently popped up with Meet the Grahams and Not Like Us, hitting Drake with some bizarre allegations, including mentioning his son, Adonis, suggesting he has a secret daughter, and claiming he is a ‘certified pedophile’.

Meeting the allegations head on, Drake hit back with The Heart Part 6, getting some shots in of his own before declaring that he’s over their drama.

‘I never been with no one underage but now I understand why this the angle that you really mess with,’ he rebuffed.

‘Just for clarity, I feel disgusted, I’m too respected. If I was f**king young girls, I promise I’d have been arrested.’

It must be noted that there is no suggestion their feud has any connection to the incident.
