Fern Britton was left terrified after horrific incident where a man drove 200 miles to stay in her holiday home as he stalked her.
The Celebrity Big Brother housemate described the ordeal as ‘disturbing and scary’ as he admitted to stalking her for two years.
James Haviland, 63, from Basingstoke was in Bodmin magistrates’ court last week over the stalking concerns, having started by sending her cards and flowers.
He then stayed in her village near Padstow, Cornwall, four times and rented out a holiday home owned by the Britton in September.
It was then in November when Haviland tried to book again that the police were alerted, according to The Sun.
The charges were said to cover a two year period from November 20, 2021 to September 16, 2023.

Prosecutor Samantha Rogers named ‘Fern Britton, a TV personality’ as his victim.
She said: ‘Over a prolonged period he sent flowers, stayed in a particular village moving closer to where she lives and staying in a cottage that she owns.’
Britton had stayed in the village since childhood and even become a local reporter there in the 1980s.
It became her safe haven after she left her Buckinghamshire home which the star had shared with her then TV-chef husband Phil Vickery.
After 20 years together, the pair split in 2020 and around the same time she lost both her parents so moved out to the town to heal.
Haviland appeared via a video link in court, wearing glasses and a jumper over a shirt as he confirmed he understood the charges.
JPs bailed him while a probation report was prepared ahead of sentencing at Basingstoke magistrates court on June 18.
