EA has confirmed plans to launch two ‘unannounced’ games before the end of the financial year, with one widely understood to be Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

The follow-up to BioWare’s Dragon Age: Inquisition may have been announced over five years ago, but hardly anything has been shown from it aside from a brief teaser trailer.

While EA previously announced a full reveal of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is planned for this summer, the company has all but confirmed it will now be released before the end of their current financial year, aka before March 31, 2025.

During EA’s latest earnings report, the company published an updated product release slate which confirms it will release ‘two unannounced titles in FY25’. One is described as a ‘partner’ title that’s expected in the fourth quarter (between January 1 and March 31 next year), while the other is an ‘owned IP title’.

The latter is believed to be Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, according to both Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb and Eurogamer. While the game has technically been announced already, the definition of ‘unannounced’ here likely means a game with no confirmed release date.

Grubb previously claimed Dragon Age: Dreadwolf would be released this year, which could still happen – so we’ll have to wait until the official blowout in the summer. If it does come out in 2024, it will be 10 years after the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

As for the other unannounced game, as a ‘partner’ title it’s reasonable to assume this will be under the EA Originals label, which has published games such as It Takes Two, Wild Hearts, and Immortals Of Aveum.

Last month, It Takes Two developer Hazelight Studios teased that it had ‘new (real good) stuff cooking’ which they will ‘talk more about later this year’ – so that could be what EA’s secret new game is.

It’s been three years since It Takes Two, which was a huge critical and commercial success, but there’s been no hint as to what Hazelight’s follow-up is.

As for the rest of 2024, EA is expected to release new instalments in its sports franchises, including EA Sports FC 25 and NHL 25. Which are obviously rather less of a surprise.
