Sam Saimi’s wife, Gillian Greene, has filed for divorce after 30 years of marriage, it has been claimed.

The Spider-Man director, 64, tied the knot with the Battlestar Galactica actress in 1993, and they went on to welcome five children together.

According to reports, the 56-year-old submitted paperwork to officially end their relationship after more than three decades.

Court documents were filed at the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, on Wednesday, and obtained by People Magazine.

She is thought to have cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their split.

Their date of marriage is listed as September 17, 1993, but it reportedly reads TBD under their date of separation.

The outlet reports that there is no mention of a pre-nup in the paperwork, and that Gillian is asking for her legal fees to be covered.

She is reportedly also seeking spousal support, and has requested that her former partner’s ability to receive alimony is terminated.

Neither have spoken publicly about the reports.

Sam and Gillian got married in 1993 and share five children – but have remained fiercely private about their time together.

They have worked together on projects over the years, including comedy thriller Murder of a Cat in 2014 – which Gillian directed.

Sam is most known for helming three films in the Spider-Man universe in the early 2000s, as well as The Evil Dead, The Gift, A Simple Plan and Drag Me To Hell.

He is set to produce Don’t Move – starring Finn Whitrock and Kelsey Asbille – which has been acquired by Netflix.

The filmmaker was recently questioned on whether he would be returning to the Spider-Man franchise for a rumored fourth film.

‘Well, I haven’t heard about that yet,’ he told Comic Book Resources of the speculation. ‘I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet.

‘I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with current Spider-Man, and the track there, and I don’t know that they’re going to go back to me, and say, “Well, folks, we can also tell that story!”

‘I’m not sure, but I love all the new Spider-Man movies.’
