Denise Welch has taken aim after being the subject of more than 100 complaints to Ofcom after a row with a Loose Women guest.

On an episode of the ITV programme last week Denise, 65, clashed with the late Queen Elizabeth’s former press spokesperson Dickie Arbiter saying Prince Harry had been ‘rubbishing his family since walking out in 2020’.

Clearly unimpressed, Denise said she was ‘sick to death of the bashing’ he and wife Meghan Markle continually received.

Now, a week on, Denise has again shared her support for the couple while also criticising those who reported her to the watchdog.

Sharing a photo of Meghan in a striking red dress during her recent trip to Nigeria, she wrote: ‘Meghan Markle has been a spokeswoman for women of colour and gender equality since she was 11 yrs old.

‘She has held a place on the world stage for years before she met Harry as a UN women’s advocate. I am appalled that this woman is abused and berated by the public and media on a daily basis.

‘Not many people could mentally cope with the hate she contends with. No wonder her husband took her away and despite everything they are thriving. Their reception in Nigeria has been wonderful to see.’

Then addressing the complaints, she added: ‘Last week I defended them against one of their detractors on TV and received 103 complaints from Ofcom!!! Good. Also, utterly pathetic.’

On the same day as sharing this post, Denise likened a royal biographer to a stalker seen in the hit Netflix series Baby Reindeer.

It came after royal correspondent Angela Levin labelled a recent outfit choice by the Duchess of Sussex as ‘disrespectful’.

Appearing on GB News over the weekend to discuss Prince Harry and his wife’s tour of Nigeria, Angela was unimpressed with Meghan’s sartorial decisions and also took aim at Harry for being ‘so rude to his father’ and using the Invictus Game to ‘make more money’.

‘I’ve been watching today, he and Meghan out in Africa, and I could barely believe my eyes,” she told host Nana Akua.

She then called Angela Levin a ‘bully’ (Picture: GB News)

‘It’s so phony and awful. You don’t mind what clothes people wear but if you go to a school, a very quiet school that is a religious one, you don’t go in a dress with low backing.

‘I think that’s really disrespectful.’

Sharing a clip of Angela’s appearance on X, Denise wrote: ‘This woman Angela Levin is a bully. Her sole job is to berate Harry and Meghan. Any channel that employs her is allowing and encouraging bullying.’

Comparing Angela to fictional stalker Martha from Baby Reindeer, one of Denise’s followers replied: ‘Meghan’s very own Martha.’

Denise agreed, commenting: ‘YES !!!’

Last week she said on Loose Women it was a ‘disgrace’ the way Meghan had been treated.

Her strong reaction during the exchange divided viewers, with one writing there was a ‘time and a place to let rip’ despite Denise being entitled to her opinions.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Angela Levin for comment.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1.
