‘I don’t think I can face this again!’ fashion fans groan as beloved 90s accessory makes a comeback in Primark

TEAMED with a boho skirt slung low on the waist, it was the height of fashion in the 90s.

But now those who experienced the trend at the time have been left groaning, after Primark apparently reintroduced the disc belt.

The disc belts are on sale for £7 in Primark, and come in brown or blacktiktok.com/@miss_archer

“I was recently joking about this coming back full circle, and Primark has done it,” one woman wrote over the top of her TikTok video.

She then turned the camera to the belt section in Primark, with the much-loved disc belt taking pride of place.

“They’ve only gone and brought back our early 2000’s drip with the disc belt,” she added.

The belt comes in brown or black, with bronze-gold studs, and costs £7.

It also comes in sizes from XXS to XL.

“I never thought I would see the day of my teenage drip re-appearing in 2024,” she captioned the TikTok video.

And people in the comments section were equally concerned about the trend making a comeback.

“I don’t think I can face this,” one sighed.

“Saw someone wearing this last night with a long white skirt,” another added.

“WOW!!! Wait, so are we officially old???” a third commented.

“Oh no not the disc belt!” someone else wrote.

“I don’t think I have the energy for it a 2nd time around,” another said.

“Absolutely not a second time,” someone else commented.

“I saw those yesterday…please no!” another pleaded.

“I haven’t got the energy for this one making a comeback,” someone else said.

All the 90s trends that are making a comeback

WE might be in 2024, but fashion fans are looking to the past when it comes to new styles. So what trends from the 90s are making a comeback these days?

Claw clips
These hair accessories were a huge trend back in the 90s, but are now most popular among those trying out the “clean girl” aesthetic. Designers such as Prada have released their own versions, while there are thousands of colours and styles to choose from on the high street.
Platform flip flops
Again a popular choice among fashionistas in the 90s, these heels have made a comeback with designers such as Balenciaga trying their luck with their own styles.
Cargo pants
Once worn by the stars of All Saints, cargo pants became a popular trend for teens in the 90s. But they’ve now had a fashion overhaul, with stars such as Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber all putting their own spin on the trend.
Jeans and a nice top
It was the phrase that defined fashion for a decade, and now famous faces such as Sofia Richie are sporting the reinvented trend – pairing their own denims with a more sophisticated top. But are you willing to dig your jeans and nice tops out of the wardrobe for a second time?

“Once was enough,” another laughed.

“I refuse, lol,” someone else wrote, as another added: “JUST NO! Just looking at them makes me feel physically sick!”

However, others were more on board with the trend’s reappearance.

“Brilliant! Loved mine,” one wrote.

“I can’t lie, I’m so ready for the 90s/00s to come back!” another added.

“So glad I’m a hoarder by heart cos I can pull out my ‘vintage’ gear and look cool all over again just like that!” a third commented.
