Louise Thompson has revealed that her fiancée Ryan Libbey ‘thought about leaving her’ after her reaction to the birth of her son Leo in 2021.

The Made in Chelsea star, 34, gave birth to two-year-old Leo in 2021 via an emergency caesarean section and the traumatic incident left her and Ryan, 33, in a dark place.

Louise, who recently revealed she now has a stoma bag after having her colon removed, admitted she was ‘not a good parent’ during the early weeks of Leo’s life.

In an honest and frank interview, she revealed that she would often go through periods of not knowing what he was doing or who was looking after him, sometimes holding him at arm’s length when they were together.

‘I really was not a good parent for a very long time. For most of his first few months I couldn’t have told you what he was doing or even who was looking after him. When I did see him, I would hold him at arm’s length.’

She then revealed to MailOnline that fiancée Ryan had considered leaving her: ‘I’ve asked him if he thought about leaving me and he said yes. Ouch. That stung. But he also knew he never would go through with it.’

Ryan himself revealed: ‘I was struggling and thought a lot about a different life. But in the same way I never really believed you would take your own life, I never believed I would walk away.’

While Louise spoke out on her struggles with Leo in the first few months, she revealed that she struggled to speak and sing to both her baby and Ryan, explaining that their struggles were too difficult to put in her recently published memoir.

Last week, Louise also revealed that she lost three-and-a-half litres of blood during Leo’s traumatic birth, providing honest details about how her son came into the world.

During her agonising and lengthy labour, doctors realised Leo’s head was wedged in her pelvis, meaning the experts in the room had to act fast to save mum and baby.

Over the course of three hours, Louise lost almost four litres of blood and there were points, she’s now admitted, that she thought she was going to die.

She told MailOnline: ‘I genuinely believed every second that I was bleeding to death. I kept turning to Ryan and asking him whether I was still alive. I didn’t believe I could be.’

After noticing that the doctors and nurses were becoming distressed and concerned, Louise had the news confirmed to her that her womb had torn during labour, which caused the massive haemorrhage.

In the interview, the reality TV star claimed she had asked for a planned C-section after finding out she was pregnant but had been advised against it by hospital staff.

‘Everyone in the room looked very distressed, I could feel their shaky hands on my body. If they’d allowed me to have a planned c-section, things could have been very different.’
