Clarkson’s Farm viewers have been left in floods of tears after finding out a beloved animal was saved from the slaughterhouse.

The third season of the Amazon Prime series returned to screens last week, with Jeremy Clarkson and his team at Diddly Squat facing multiple heartbreaks.

After having to make the decision to send their cows off to an abattoir, their focus then turned to rearing pigs, however the death of multiple piglets caused them significant distress.

Following the rollercoaster of emotions, both Jeremy and partner Lisa Hogan, as well as viewers of the show were left relieved after discovering the fate of Pepper, a cow who he once vowed to protect.

In the final episode of the season, Jeremy took Lisa to a farm in Northamptonshire and delivered a massive surprise.

Nearly a year after they had said goodbye to Pepper, it turns out not only was she alive, but had also become a mum.

The emotional scenes saw Lisa left in absolute shock as she was reunited with Pepper, while also being introduced to her calf Tabatha.

As was explained to the pair by breeder Tim Hogan, Pepper had fallen pregnant soon after they had sold her, which saved her from being killed.

‘We haven’t seen her for a year,’ Jeremy explained to the cameras before pointing out the new addition too.

‘Pepper got pregnant. This is Pepper’s calf.’

Gushing over the calf, Jeremy called Tabby the ‘sweetest’ thing before Lisa said the news was ‘the best surprise you could have given me’.

Those watching it play out at home were also moved by what they watched.

‘Pepper is alive!!!’ Sam posted on X.

‘Who else cried when they saw Pepper and Tabatha?’ Shell shared.

‘I was so happy for the most famous cow in the world. You are so cute Tabby!’ Cherry added.

Another said the surprise was ‘the best part of the entire series’ while someone else said the show provided ‘smiles, tears and laughter’.

It turned out that Pepper had got pregnant by the same bull who had been on Diddly Squat farm, with Tim joking she just didn’t like Oxfordshire and thrived and was able to fall pregnant once leaving.

When making the decision to sell his cows due to not being able to afford to keep them after being forced to shut his restaurant down by the council and losing the outlet to sell them, in the first episode of the season Jeremy had said he was ‘really quite sad’.

‘I’m finding today really quite sad as for the last year I’ve been opening the windows, opening the curtains in the morning and there are the cows. And I love that. Making cow noises. It just cheers my heart every morning to see them,’ he explained.

However, land agent Charlie Ireland had advised him not to ask too many questions about Pepper’s fate, saying: ‘Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answers to.’

Clarkson’s Farm is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
