The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – not a short game (Nintendo)

A Zelda player thought they had an excuse for giving up their attempts to complete Tears Of The Kingdom, until they found a fix for their problem.

Nintendo’s Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom was one of the best games of last year, with its huge and varied open world making it a lot of fun to explore, but also very time consuming.

That’s especially true if you want to 100% complete it, which Street Fighter pro and commentator Brian_F wish he’d never set out to do.

Brian_F realised this was a big ask and when his save file was corrupted, at 82% map completion and after 250 hours played, he was relieved, saying, ‘I’m free.’ A fan, however, had a fix, which put him right back into the grind.

‘Nintendo decided to end my suffering at 82% map completion by corrupting all of my save files and making the game auto crash. I’m free,’ Brian_F said on Twitter.

At that point he’d collected all shrines, lightroots, armour, all Sage’s Wills, and Yiga Schematics, as well as finished 133 of 139 side quests.

A helpful fan then ruined his day, saying that he could try to restore his save file by going into settings and ‘check for corrupt data’, which, to Brian_F’s frustration, restored his game file.

‘Unfortunately, this worked (even though the feature said no data was corrupted?). 83% now,’ he said.

On average, Tears Of The Kingdom takes about 60 hours to finish just the main story and a whopping 240 hours to complete everything.

Even though he’s got many more hours to explore Hyrule and its very, very large world, before he’s at 100%, Brian_F has come too far to quit now.

He’s clearly regretting his decision 250 hours in, but he can’t be resenting it that much considering he still chose to dive back in, after being given an out.
